Chris Pratt Fires Back At ‘Woke Critics’ Attacking His Show ‘The Terminal List’ As It Dominates Ratings

The Hollywood star Chris Pratt is firing back at the “woke critics” of his show “The Terminal List” after he got the last laugh when the show became a massive hit.

Daily Mail reported that despite being panned by woke critics, “The Terminal List” skyrocketed to No. 2 on the list of America’s most-streamed shows last week. According to Fox News, Pratt took to his Instagram Story to celebrate his victory over “woke” critics, sharing this screenshot:

Not stopping there, Pratt then shared a photo of the infamous Dr. Evil from the “Austin Powers” films, referencing the huge number of people who have streamed his show on Amazon Prime. Nielsen reports have stated that at least 1.6 billion minutes were devoted to streaming “The Terminal List.”

“One point six BILLLLLLLLLION minutes,” Pratt wrote alongside the image. 

‘Woke’ Critics Sound Off 

“The Terminal List” has been embraced by fans despite many critics attacking it for being decidedly non-woke. These critics included The Hollywood Reporter writer Daniel Fienberg, who called it “the entertainment equivalent of a charred hockey puck, with the same limited range of flavor and aesthetics.”

Another “woke” critic of the show was Nick Schager, who wrote for The Daily Beast that the program was an “unhinged right-wing revenge fantasy” and “a wet dream for militia-minded anti-establishment kooks.”

RogerEbert.com described the show as “an alpha male cry for help” that showcases “jingoism at its finest, and absolute worst.” Slate.com said that “The Terminal List” is “yet another invitation to worship at the altar of the Navy SEALs, who have become, in the decades after 9/11, our culture industries’ warrior saints, which isn’t good.”

Rotten Tomatoes shows that “The Terminal List” has a 40/100 rating among critics, but a startling 94/100 rating from viewers.

Jack Carr Responds To Critics 

“The Terminal List, which is based on the “New York Times” best-selling novel by former Navy SEAL Jack Carr, tells the story of Navy SEAL Commander James Reece (Pratt), who is trying to get vengeance while investigating the “mysterious forces behind the murder of his entire platoon.” Carr discussed critics’ reactions to the show in an interview with Tucker Carlson last month, according to Newsweek. 

“It seems to have triggered quite a few of these critics,” he said at the time. “We didn’t make it for the critics. We made it for those in the arena.”

“We made it for the soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine that went downrange to Iraq and Afghanistan. so they could sit on the couch and say, ‘Hey, these guys put in the work. They put in the effort to make something special and make a show that speaks to them,'” he added. “And that 95 percent rating lets me know that we at least got close.”

Carr, who also executive produced the show, recalled one critic asking him what he would even call a show like this one.

“You call that the No. 1 series on Prime Video,” Carr responded. 

This all just goes to show that Hollywood and critics alike have lost all touch with the reality of what audiences really want these days. Here’s hoping Hollywood wakes up and starts giving us good all-American content like “The Terminal List.”
