Yesterday, we reported that Candace Cameron Bure had been slammed by the YouTuber JoJo Siwa as the “rudest celebrity” that she’s ever met. Now, Cameron Bure has taken an Instagram to reveal that she has personally called Siwa to find out what she did to wrong her, and that she ended up apologizing to her.

‘I Was Shocked’

“Honestly I was shocked when I saw the TikTok on Sunday and had no idea where it came from,” Cameron Bure said in her video, according to Daily Mail.

Cameron Bure, 46, was able to contact Siwa through a mutual friend, and when the 19 year-old singer and dancer got on the phone, she told the former “Full House” star that she “didn’t think it was going to go viral” and that “it was just a silly TikTok trend,” adding that she “didn’t think it was a big deal.”

Cameron Bure responded by saying that it actually was a “big deal,” as she is now getting hate when she did not remember ever doing anything to Siwa. Finally, the teenager explained that she attended the premiere of “Fuller House” back in 2016 when she was 11 years-old, and she was saddened when Cameron Bure declined to take a photo with her on the chaotic red carpet.

Siwa Reveals What Happened

“I met you at the Fuller House premiere when I was 11 years old, and we were all on the red carpet,” Siwa told Cameron Bure. “I had come up to you and said, ‘Can I have a picture with you?’ and you said to me, ‘Not right now.’ And then proceeded to do what you were doing and take pictures with other people on the red carpet.”

When Cameron Bure attempted to apologize, Siwa told her, “You weren’t even mean! And I get it now, as an adult, when you’re on the red carpet and everything’s happening and you’re being pulled in different directions, but at that time I was 11.”

“I kind of broke your 11-year-old heart, I didn’t take a picture with you!” Cameron Bure stated. “I feel crummy. JoJo, I’m so sorry!”

Cameron Bure went on to say that the two of them had a “really great conversation,” and ended her video by offering her fans some advice.

“I think the lesson we can learn is to be mindful,” she concluded. “That no matter how may followers you have, even a ten second trending TikTok video can do damage, because our words matter and our actions matter.”

The TikTok in which Siwa slammed Cameron Bure as the “rudest celebrity” that she’s met has gone mega-viral, garnering over 17.9 million views in just three days.

Who Is Siwa?

Siwa is a social media star who got her start on the reality show “Dance Moms” when she was a small child. Most recently, she came in second on the last season of “Dancing With The Stars,” during which she made headlines for being the first star to compete with a partner of the same sex after she came out as a lesbian. Check out Siwa’s performances from last season in the video below.

Cameron Bure also competed on “Dancing With The Stars,” coming in 3rd on season 18 back in 2014. She has long been known as one of the few openly conservative Christian actresses in Hollywood, which is partly why it was a shock to so many to see her be branded “rude.”

We’re glad to see that Cameron Bure was able to clear up this uncomfortable situation, and we hope that any hate she may be receiving for “wronging” Siwa stops now.
