Despite being 73 years old, Ric Flair is reportedly set to wrestle again. Also, an AEW wrestler is likely going to miss months of action.

Ric Flair Set To Wrestle Again

In pro wrestling, few stay retired. Mostly, someone hangs up their boots when their body simply cannot take anymore bumps.

Many wrestlers overstay this welcome. Also, some tarnish their legacies by not knowing when it is time for others to shine.

For example, many believe Ric Flair’s time inside the ring should have ended in 1990s. It has not concluded and after a length hiatus, Flair is preparing to wrestle again.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer went into further details.

“He is planning to wrestle again,” said Meltzer. “But, I don’t know more details.”

“He told me it was a secret, but the rumor has it Ric Flair and FTR against The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and somebody. A match that he is training for [but] not right away.”

“I guess it will get announced when it gets announced if it happens. Something like this could fall through, he could get hurt in training.”

As for staying in shape, Flair has been uploading videos of him training with Jay Lethal. Clearly, he is much slower than the last time fans saw him inside the ring.

Flair’s last official match was in September 2011 for Impact Wrestling. He would lose to Sting that evening.

Before that, he worked about a dozen matches in Impact Wrestling and also fought Hulk Hogan several times overseas. Of course, WWE gave Flair the greatest farewell in history.

Shawn Michaels defeated Flair at WrestleMania 24, forcing the now 73 year old to retire. The next night, he was honored by his wrestling friends from the past and present.

All I can say is, please stop wrestling Flair. Being a manager is fine, but he nobody should be wrestling at his age.

AEW seems to be down a female wrestler. Leyla Hirsch was injured during a taping of Dark in early April.

Since then, she has not returned to TV. And, she was one of the top ranked female wrestlers, so a title shot was in her future.

The nature and severity of the injury is unknown. During a Q&A, Mike Johnson is under the impression she tore her ACL and/or her MCL.

If that is the case, it would require surgery and rehab. An injury like that could easily have someone out for a year.

“No one has confirmed this officially to me, but the belief among talents is that she tore her ACL and/or MCL,” said Johnson. “If that is the case, likely means she’s going to need or had surgery and she’ll be out rehabbing.”

The incident occurred when the Russian landed awkwardly during a somersault. The match was stopped and Hirsch was taken to the back.
