nxt superstar impressing backstage

In the midst of another round of releases, some good news: one NXT Superstar is impressing folks backstage.

NXT Superstar Impressing Backstage

If you want to avoid being released, you could do as one NXT Superstar is, as they are impressing folks backstage.

That’s the report from the Wrestling Observer.

Nikita Lyons is one of the breakout Superstars in NXT 2.0. And, her success likely wasn’t truly expected…at least not at this rate.

NXT 2.0 has introduced us to a few rising Superstars, like Bron Breakker.

While Nikita Lyons may not be on that level (yet), she’s getting over with fans every week.

More important, the NXT Superstar is impressing backstage.

Now, that does not mean that she’s going to be rapidly pushed to the moon. But, in a time when NXT cuts have recently happened…impressing people backstage is a good thing.

It is important to make a good impression. Someone could be exceptionally talented in the ring, but if they annoy the wrong people backstage…it’s a bad thing.

In this instance, without giving specific examples, it is noted that Nikita Lyons has been impressing the right people backstage, and such praise bodes well for her prospects.

WWE can always use talent for the Women’s Division, and Lyons is working toward becoming someone they could count on.

It will be interesting to see if she can establish herself as a challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Some of the more recent challengers have moved on to SmackDown, or are injured. It’s a bit unsettled as to who will rise to be next in line.

So, if she is impressing backstage and winning over fans…Lyons has as good a shot as any other female NXT Superstar.

More Releases Coming Soon?

Last week was rough for some in NXT, but are more releases coming soon?

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, that is a concern and also an unknown.

The report indicates that any pending moves are being kept from basically everyone.

However, there is definitely concern that the NXT 2.0 releases are just the beginning of things, not a one and done type move.

Of course, if you missed it, WWE bid adieu to some NXT talents last week. Most notable among them were Dexter Lumis, Malcolm Bivens and Dakota Kai.

When the brand got rebooted, one theme we’d heard was that WWE may have a shorter leash on younger talent. If the powers that be didn’t see a main roster future, the talent would be gone more quickly.

That was certainly proven true with Harland being on his way out.

But…that’s just NXT.

Could last week’s cuts be a harbinger of things to come?

It’s been a little bit since we’ve seen significant main roster releases. In terms of timing, we did see quite a few gone shortly after WrestleMania last year.

Now, we are roughly a month past WrestleMania and we’ve yet to see a main roster release this year.

Are they still coming, like some fear? Or will Vince exhibit some patience this time around?
