Legendary leading lady Joan Collins of “Dynasty” fame is sounding off this week to say that the #MeToo movement has gone way too far, as it’s led to an “anti-maleness” that targets young men “who are suffering from being labeled toxically masculine.”

Collins, 88, told The New York Times that she’s sick of gender neutral terms being used for everything these days.

“What’s wrong with mother? What’s wrong with woman? Girl? I don’t like having that word taken away,” she lamented.

“I’m very proud of being a woman,” Collins continued. “People say, ‘You didn’t burn your bra, you wear lipstick.’ So what? I believe that women are equal to men in every single way, except physical strength.”

Joan Collins Says #MeToo Has Gone Too Far

Not stopping there, Collins complained that the #MeToo movement has brought about a culture of “anti-maleness.”

“Sadly, I think that now young men are suffering from being labeled toxically masculine, because of this rise of anti-maleness,” she said.

Her Previous #MeToo Comments

Collins has previously been open about the mixed feelings she has for the #MeToo movement.

“It seems to me actresses who are saying, you know, ‘I went up to this producer and he took his d— out and I froze,'” she told The Observer back in 2018. “I mean, I’m sorry, you don’t freeze you go, ‘Stop that, I’m leaving.’ I just gave them a knee in the groin. It’s hardly suffering. You just didn’t put up with it.”

In that same interview, Collins said that she still believes in the tradition of marriage, even after being married five times.

“I think there’s a wonderful commitment to it,” she said.

Joan Collins ‘Absolutely’ A Feminist – Against Cancel Culture

Even so, when asked in 2018 if she’s a feminist, Collins replied by saying “Absolutely.”

“I did long before that word was widely used,” she added. I’ve always believed in equality. Women can do whatever men do and they have the right to do so. The only possible area where women aren’t equal is physical strength. That’s why I’ll let somebody carry my bags. And, well, there’s a lot of bags.”

Joan Collins is certainly one woman who has never been afraid to tell it like it is! We could use more common sense celebrities like her in Hollywood these days.

Before you go, we’d be remiss to pass up a chance to honor Joan Collins’ real-life boldness with a little “Dynasty” throwback. Check out that eye makeup – Alexis sure knew how to make a statement. Enjoy!
