If Khamzat Chimaev meets Colby Covington, Darren Till sees it ending one way.
With a finish.
Till was a guest on Submission Radio recently to discuss the potential welterweight fight. Chimaev made a giant climb in the rankings with his recent win over Gilbert Burns.
Covington, meanwhile, is coming off a win over Jorge Masvidal.
“I would like to see him fight Colby in a five-round main event, and I think that’s the best thing for both guys. I think Khamzat can knock him out,” Till said. “I don’t think Colby’s felt power like Khamzat. Like, I’ve changed my opinion a bit, because Colby’s a good fighter, but I just don’t see who he’s fighting who’s at the top of the level right now. Obviously Usman, but like, there’s no one [else].
“Khamzat’s obviously come up real quick. I just think Khamzat’s got so much power and edge over him. Listen, Colby’s a terrific fighter, he’s phenomenal, but I see the win there with Khamzat, and I’d love to see that to get him ready for the title for Usman.”
As for his own career, Till is still working to solve that. Uriah Hall has been mentioned, but nothing is signed.
“I don’t know, my options are open. I just want the right fight for me. It’d be probably hard taking the Uriah Hall fight. I’m quite… I gotta… I’m scared of Uriah Hall (laughs). He’s a beast.”
