WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 Report Card: Grades Aere In!

For the first time ever, the WWE Elimination Chamber took place outside of the United States. Therefore, it is time to attach grades to each match.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 Report Card: Grades Aere In!

Rey Mysterio vs The Miz

Two former WWE Champions went to the other side of the world for a kickoff match. The match was fine, but nothing to brag about.

Seeing what has been happening on TV, I figured Dominik would cost his father. Instead, Rey Mysterio was able to get the better thanks to his son.

The match served no purpose. WWE should have booked a match with some substance behind it. Grade: B-

Elimination Chamber Match: Alexa Bliss vs Bianca Belair vs Doudrop vs Liv Morgan vs Nikki A.S.H. vs Rhea Ripley

Huge implications were on the line here as the winner gets a RAW Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 38. Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair were the favorites, but Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan could have scored the win.

The one handed body press by Belair was a sight to see and shows her impressive strength. Otherwise, nothing too memorable occurred.

It is nice to see Bliss back, but I thought she would return to her old gimmick. Overall, Belair won as the women made history in the first ever Elimination Chamber match from Saudi Arabia. Grade: B-

Universal Championship: Roman Reigns vs Goldberg

Remember, this match was supposed to happen at WrestleMania 36. Like ten days out, Roman Reigns opted not to work because of the pandemic.

So, after a lengthy delay, WWE finally paired them together. The only difference from two years ago is Reigns has become a heel.

Like every Goldberg match, he hit a few major offensive moves as he is limited in the ring. Reigns keeps the belts and Goldberg could be done as his WWE contract is now expired. Grade: B-

Naomi & Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair & Sonya Deville

The big twist heading to the match was Ronda Rousey needed one arm tied down. Then, to make things interesting, Sonya Deville reveled her arm is now fine and no sling is needed.

Still, matches did not go well for opponents of Rousey. For a woman with one arm to use, the former UFC Champion looked good.

I liked the end when Rousey gave Charlotte Flair the chance to save Deville. Instead, in typical heel fashion, Charlotte watched with no care as Deville tapped. Grade: B-

Falls Count Anywhere Match: Drew McIntyre vs Madcap

Source: WWE India, Twitter, Screenshot

For some reason, WWE is dragging on the Drew McIntyre feud with Happy Corbin and Madcap. I figured a few weeks was enough and the pairing was temporary.

Yet, the angle has made it all the way to Saudi Arabia. First, Madcap took a nasty fall on his head and the match was better than I thought.

Second, there was no point in hitting the claymore with a sword. I feel Corbin and McIntyre are destined for WrestleMania, which does not sound like great booking. Grade: B

Elimination Chamber For The WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley vs AJ Styles vs Brock Lesnar vs Austin Theory vs Riddle vs Seth Rollins

Source: WWE, Twitter, Screenshot

Brock Lesnar seemed like the favorite to win and we know why. I like how WWE removed Bobby Lashley without him getting pinned or submitted.

Seth Rollins was a highlight in the match, working well with everyone. Also, Lesnar destroying his opponents was fun to watch.

Well, it looks likes WrestleMania 38 will see champion vs champion with Lesnar vs Reigns. It will be a high-stakes match. Grade: B+

Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch vs Lita

Source: First Sports, Twitter, Screenshot

Becky Lynch has yet to be pinned or submitted for her RAW Women’s Championship. That was over 500 days ago and the streak continues.

Heading into the match, few thought Lita would win because she wrestles once every five years. Although, after the twist of fate and moonsault, I thought she had the title.

Post-match, the fans applauded Lita, who was crying alongside Lynch. So, I am starting to think that could have been Lita’s final match. Grade B+

Joe Lisnow

The lineage of pro wrestling dates back centuries, tying the world together through the art of storytelling. After nearly 30 years of watching, now Joe has the chance to report the news about men and women competing inside a 20-foot by 20-foot ring.
