Iconic and influential director Peter Bogdonavich has passed away at age 82. The director of The Last Picture Show, Mask, and Paper Moon was a beloved filmmaker who influenced a generation. Apart from his turns as a director, he was a film historian who documented the careers of fellow directors with in-depth interviews and documentaries.

Fans and those who worked with Bogdonavich remembered him for his contributions and his kind nature.

On a personal level, one of my favorite movies ever is Mask. As an outcast myself, I identified with Eric Stoltz’s character. The movie taught me the importance of accepting others and loving yourself for who you are.
