NASCAR Star Brandon Brown Breaks His Silence About Anti-Biden ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Chant

Brandon Brown is the NASCAR driver whose name became associated with the anti-Joe Biden chant “Let’s Go Brandon!” earlier this year. On Monday, Brown broke his silence to reveal what he thinks about this for the first time.

‘Let’s Go Brandon’

Brown had just won his first Xfinity Series race at Talladega two months ago when he was interviewed as fans could be heard shouting “f*** Joe Biden.” NBC Sports reporter Kelli Stavast then incorrectly told the audience they were saying “Let’s go, Brandon,” and this has since become a rallying cry for Trump supporters.

Brown, 28, explained in an op-ed for Newsweek that this all initially made him concerned about how it would impact his racing and sponsorships.

However, he has since decided to use his newfound fame to address issues important “to millions of Americans across the country.”

“All the advice I got from those around my racing career was to stay quiet after that now-famous interview. No one knew how my sponsors would react and, in my world, there is no car to drive without the sponsors,” Brown wrote.

Brown Was Never Interested In Politics

Brown went on to say that while politics has never interested him, he’s noticed that politicians seem to cause more problems than they solve.

“Racing at 200 miles per hour doesn’t give me a lot of time to think about politics,” he said. “And even if it did, I have always preferred the roar of the engine to the roar of my voice.”

Brown told the New York Times that he is a Republican who regularly votes, but he declined to say for who and made it clear that he will not be endorsing specific candidates.

“I understand that millions of people are struggling right now and are frustrated. Struggling to get by and struggling to build a solid life for themselves and their families, and wondering why their government only seems to make it worse. People have a right to frustration – even anger,” Brown wrote in his op-ed. “I hear them, even if Washington does not.”

‘Let’s Go America’

That’s why Brown is planning to take the platform he’s been given and use it to highlight issues that matter to him and “the problems we all share as Americans.”

“Let’s Go, America,” he concluded, ending the op-ed with a chant of his own.

It seems that Brown is one young man who has a good head on his shoulders! While he’s certainly been put in a difficult position, it appears that he knows exactly what he wants to do with his newfound fame.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
