Since marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan Markle has shown the world that she wants to control the narrative when it comes to her own image, and that she is determined to be seen as a “good person.”

That’s why she’s undoubtedly fuming right now after an interview surfaced from before she was a Royal in which she exhibits “hostile behavior,” according to a body language expert.

2016 Meghan Markle Interview Surfaces

Daily Mail reported that the interview in question was conducted by Ruben Jay ahead of a mid-season premiere of Meghan’s show “Suits.” In the video, Jay mixed up his questions when he introduced Meghan. Body language expert Jesús Enrique Rosas suggested that her “mask slipped” when she responded after Jay’s mix-up.

Here’s the original interview:

“When an analyst spots a compound expression, you have to judge, what is the correct word to define what you are seeing?” Rosas said. “This is because compound expressions can have any kind of facial combination. In this case, my personal take on it is that I see hostility.”

As the interviewer stumbled over his words, Rosas showed how Meghan’s expression “changed.”

“The next change comes when she turns to see the camera, which could be seen as her resting face,” he said as he slowed down the clip. “It’s not hard to spot that Meghan has a very intense gaze, or at least that’s the look she wants to give the camera. She tries to play friendly by rising her eyebrows, and show goodwill to the interviewer.”

Body Language Expert: Meghan Markle Was ‘Clenching The Jaw’

Rosas went on to say that Meghan was “clenching the jaw, most of the time, is trying to release stress. Does it mean that Meghan is angry all the time? Maybe not.”

“But it seems that she has adapted that jaw clenching as a bad habit… But if she adopted this as a bad habit, it’s because at some point, she had these intense bouts of emotions that required that facial escape,” he continued. “You have to look at all of [Meghan’s expressions] like a system, and it’s much easier if you reduce expressions to their easiest meanings.”

“One, she has a hard time showing genuine smiles,” Rosa explained. “Two, she has a hard time hiding her tension, that might be anger or frustration And three, she looks like she wants to have control of the narrative because she seems too affected by the man talking.”

‘Meghan Was Upset’

“Despite how distracting or confusing that might be – Meghan was upset and she was doing a very bad job of hiding it,” he concluded. “Later in the interview, she grabbed the man’s cards and she even gets upset when she looks at someone over her shoulder.”

Since Meghan married Harry, the public has certainly seen many sides of her, and she’s shown just how important controlling her image is to her by suing the British press after she was portrayed negatively. For that reason, she will undoubtedly have a big problem with the above video.
