UFC Fight Night Results: Marina Rodriguez Denies Mackenzie Dern

For now, the Mackenzie Dern train has been stalled thanks to Marina Rodriguez.

Rodriguez scored a decision victory over Dern after five rounds of action Saturday night at UFC Fight Night. The bout was named “Fight of the Night” for the event.

Live on ESPN+ from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Rodriguez improved her record to 15-1-2 with the decision win. She has won each of her last three bouts, including back-to-back five-round main events.

For Dern, the loss was her first since a 2019 decision defeat to Amanda Ribas. She had won each of her last four fights, including three by submission.

In the co-main event, Randy Brown downed Jared Gooden via decision, while Matheus Nicolau claimed a decision over Tim Elliott.

Mariya Agapova and Chris Gutierrez were also winners on the main card. Agapova submitted Sabina Mazo and Gutierrez topped Felipe Colares. 

Alexander Romanov, Damon Jackson, Lupita Godinez and Steve Garcia earned wins on the prelims. Romanov and Garcia won via TKO with Godinez earning a submission.

Godinez and Agapova picked up “Performance of the Night” bonuses.
