Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder Battle Over Boxing Heavyweight Title

Tyson Fury retained his title and status as the king of boxing’s heavyweight division.

Fury finished off Deontay Wilder to retain his WBC heavyweight title in the epic third meeting between the two. The bout took place from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

After dropping Wilder late in the fight, Fury again sent the former champion crashing down. This time, the ref stepped in, ending it in the 11th. 

The two heavyweights traded knockdowns early in the fight. Fury sent Wilders to the canvas first, with Wilder returning the favor in the next round. 

In the first meeting, judges ruled the fight a draw back in 2018. Two years later, Fury claimed the belt with a seventh round TKO over Wilder. 

Frank Sanchez remained unbeaten, scoring a lackluster decision over Efe Ajagba. Sanchez improved to 19-0 after landing 57 total punches to 53 by Ajagba. 

Robert Helenius finished off Adam Kownacki, smothering him for a TKO victory. Helenius connected on 129 punches, 81 of which were considered power strikes. 

In another heavyweight affair, Jared Anderson moved to 10-0 when he finished Vladimir Tereshkin in the second round. The loss was the first in 24 fights for the Russian. 

Edgar Berlanga bested Marcelo Esteban Coceres via decision, improving his record to 18-0. Vladimir Hernandez upset Julian Williams via split decision. Williams was fighting for the first time since losing the WBA and IBG titles in 2020 to Jeison Rosario.

Robeisy Ramirez, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, remained unbeaten when he downed Orlando Gonzalez. Bruce Carrington won his pro debut  and Viktor Faust finished Mike Marshall to begin the night.
