Prince William reportedly shut down Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s demand that their daughter Lilibet have her christening at Windsor Castle, according to a royal expert.

Meghan Wanted Daughter Christened At Windsor

NBC royal correspondent Neil Sean told The Express that one of the issues that Meghan has had with the Royal Family of late is that she wanted her daughter Lilibet to be christened at Windsor Castle, where she married Harry in 2018.

However, after everything that has happened in the past year, this appeal did not sit well with one senior royal in particular.

“One of the bigger problems that Meghan really encountered of later is that she wanted her daughter, Lilibet Diana, to be christened in the place she was married alongside her husband Prince Harry. And then the christening of her firstborn, Archie,” Sean said.

“But that came to a grinding halt. Both Harry and Meghan were very keen to make that return and make sure that christening happened, particularly in front of Her Majesty The Queen,” he added. “Some people may say they’re just capitalizing on their royal connection and why not? It’s how they make money now.”

“But moving forward there was one person who basically decided there wasn’t an appetite for this and the person that seemingly is, so far, not willing to kiss and make up with his younger brother,” Sean continued.

Prince William Shuts Down Meghan And Harry

It turns out that it was allegedly Prince William who shut them down.

Reportedly, he wasn’t about to let his younger brother capitalize off his royal connections in this way after he publicly bashed the Royal Family in interviews multiple times over the past year.

“According to a very good source, Prince William was the one who basically said ‘no, we don’t think this is going to work,’ it wasn’t a particularly good idea,” Sean explained.

Tensions between the two brothers have been high ever since Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals last year.

Since then, Meghan and Harry have repeatedly bad mouthed the Royal Family in interviews. They claimed they were the victims of racism from one unnamed member of the Royal Family who allegedly questioned how dark their son Archie would be prior to his birth.

‘We Are Not A Racist Family’

“We are not a racist family,” William said after Meghan and Harry made this claim during their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.

After everything that Meghan and Harry have put the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family through over the past few months, it takes a lot of nerve for them to think that they can have their daughter christened at Windsor.

If they’re going to publicly bash the Royal Family, it seems only fair that they don’t get to enjoy the Royal perks.
