For the past year, singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson has been embroiled in a bitter divorce from her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock, who is the stepson of country music legend Reba McEntire.
In a new interview this week, McEntire opened up about this divorce, and she even revealed who she is “pulling for” as it continues.
McEntire Talks Clarkson-Blackstock Divorce
“Have you gotten a chance to mentor her or offer her some advice… as she goes through her divorce, as a woman and mother in the spotlight?” McEntire was asked by Extra.
McEntire responded by making it clear that she is in a very difficult position when it comes to this breakup. She loves both Clarkson and Blackstock.
“You know, I love them both,” she said. “Brandon’s my stepson, Kelly’s my good friend… I am pulling for both of them. I hope they’re happy and healthy and pull though this. I pray everyone gives them the encouragement they can because they need it right now, both of them do. I love the both of them with all my heart.”

Clarkson Files For Divorce – It Goes Off The Rails Quickly
Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock, with whom she shares two young children, in June of 2020, citing “irreconcilable differences” at the time.
“They clashed on so many levels, and being in quarantine together heightened their problems to the point of no return.
So she filed for divorce,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time of the divorce filing. “Everyone thought Kelly and Brandon had the perfect marriage, but they definitely didn’t. Brandon’s very laid-back, whereas Kelly’s pretty high-strung.”
Since then, Clarkson has been open about how “tough” both the divorce and co-parenting with Blackstock has been.
“I know with me and Brandon, it’s just a difficult thing because we’re in different places, and it’s like, we both agree on the main things, but it’s a hard thing when you’re not together all the time, for me personally,” she said back in February, according to US Weekly. “As long as you make sure it’s about the children and their best interests, then we’re both on board.”

Clarkson recently scored some victories in her divorce battle when her prenuptial agreement was upheld and she was awarded the Montana ranch that she had bought with her husband during their marriage.
