Last week marked the 19th anniversary of Kelly Clarkson winning the inaugural season of “American Idol.”

While singing had always been her dream, Clarkson is reportedly planning to make a major career change that may bring about the end of her singing career. This comes as Clarkson’s bitter divorce from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock rages on.

Kelly shares what she did this summer and what changes she’ll be making, take a look:

Clarkson Considering Major Career Change

An insider told OK! Magazine that Clarkson is considering ditching her singing career altogether to focus on her talk show as she takes over Ellen DeGeneres’ coveted time slot. The source explained that between hosting her show and coaching on “The Voice,” Clarkson “has been crazy busy, and it’s only going to get more intense.”

“Something’s got to give, and it looks like it will be her singing career,” the source added.

Clarkson also wants to make sure that she has plenty of time to spend with her two young children, River Rose, 7, and Remington, 5.

“She isn’t about to quit recording and performing altogether, but music will be sidelined,” the source said. “Kelly’s pretty savvy. She figures it would be a miracle if she’s still hitting the charts in 20 years, but she can totally imagine herself with a hit show!”

Clarkson’s Bitter Divorce

Clarkson is still in the midst of divorcing her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, who she split from one year ago. Another source recently revealed that Blackstock was “extremely jealous” of his ex-wife’s success.

“The relationship had been on the rocks for a long time,” this source told US Weekly. “She was the high-income earner with a wildly successful talk show, and is the star of another hit show ‘The Voice.’ Brandon was extremely jealous of it and made her know it.”

In the wake of their split, the insider said that Clarkson “can finally enjoy her success without feeling ashamed. Kelly doesn’t take credit for her success but shares it with the team she works with. It’s just who she is.”

Clarkson Lost Trust In Blackstock

The source also said that as their marriage came to an end, Clarkson came to believe “that Brandon was just using her for her money and lifestyle.”

“The marriage was really, really awful at the end,” the insider continued. “Kelly felt that she could no longer trust Brandon. She had a lot of questions that he just couldn’t answer.”

It seems that after a difficult year, things are looking up for Clarkson as she considers some major life and career changes.

While we will certainly miss her singing if she decides to give that up, we look forward to continue to be entertained by her every day on her talk show!
