WWE Very Worried About SummerSlam Status, AEW Signs Ruby Riott

The SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) is mere weeks away. With the WWE planning the “largest party of the summer”, the company is worried that the status could change for the event, due to the rising cases in COVID-19.

WWE Very Worried About SummerSlam Status

COVID-19 cases are on the rise all across the U.S. According to Body Slam, this has the WWE concerned.

If restrictions are put in placed to stop the spread of the infection, this might affect large gatherings. This could mean that SummerSlam might have to head back to the Thunderdome.

The report indicates that there are WWE sources who expect to return to the Performance Center or Thunder Dome in the next couple of weeks. However, the real worry is that this move could occur before SummerSlam.

WWE Worried That SummerSlam Status = Cancelled

Meanwhile, other sources stated there is a feeling SummerSlam will be canceled. It seems that the WWE fully expects they won’t be on the road in four weeks.

Their worry about touring is how they’ll be able to move forward in a non-contained environment. With that said, the promotion for SummerSlam seems to indicate that the event will take place.

Still, it’s always important to have a “plan B”, should something arise. SummerSlam is slated for Sunday, August 21st, taking place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

If SummerSlam is canceled, this would be a massive blow to the WWE. They recently put COVID and the Thunderdome behind them when they headed back on the road, this past July 16th.

The financial impact of the novel coronavirus hit the company hard. Due to budget cuts, they’ve released a ton of talent.

One incredible wrestler that was let go was Ruby Riott. Sad news at the time, but things might be looking up for her.

AEW Signs Ruby Riott

AEW has snagged quite a few wrestlers that the WWE has released. Sounds like their women’s division is about to grow, too.

Ruby Riott was recently let go from the WWE. She slightly changed her name to Ruby Soho.

She took the time to trademark The Runaway. Now, according to a Fightful Select report, she’s going to be All Elite.

As per the report, her non-compete clause will expire right before All Out, which takes place Sunday, September 5th. No official word, but fans could see her at that event.

Soho hasn’t done many signings or interviews since her WWE release. However, she did dye her hair.

Could she sport a new look once she enters AEW? There’s a good possibility her gimmick might be different than what she did in the WWE.

It’s important to note that no creative plans have been indicated for Soho. But fans should look out for her debut in the coming weeks ahead.

“Ruby Soho” Trends On Social Media

The news hit social media about Ruby’s All Elite status. As such, “Ruby Soho” was trending.

In fact, radio personality and Youtuber JD From NY tweeted something about Soho. He stated Ruby’s move to AEW was something he wanted to see.

He also stated that she will get to start over, and was underutilized in the WWE. Many fans agreed with JD’s sentiments as he received over 750 “favorites”.

Ruby Riott was underutilized in the WWE. Here’s hoping Ruby Soho gets plentiful opportunities in AEW.
