Nightbirde Withdraws From ‘America’s Got Talent’ After Devastating Cancer Update

Nightbirde, the singer who went viral after earning a Golden Buzzer on “America’s Got Talent,” announced on Monday that she is dropping out of the competition to focus on her battle with cancer.

The 30-year-old AGT favorite went viral with her audition earlier this year when she performed an original song called “I’m Okay.”

Here’s her audition that won the Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell.

Nightbirde Drops Out Of ‘AGT’

Sadly, Nightbirde who’s real name is Jane Marczewski, took to Instagram yesterday to reveal that she can no longer continue in the competition.

“Sharing my heart with the world on ‘AGT’ has been an honor and a dream come true,” she began in her post. “My point of view this summer has been astounding. What a miracle that the pain I’ve walked through can be reworked into beauty that makes people all over the world open their eyes wider.”

“Since my audition, my health has taken a turn for the worse and the fight with cancer is demanding all of my energy and attention,” Nightbirde added. “I am so sad to announce that I won’t be able to continue forward on this season of AGT. Life doesn’t always give breaks to those that deserve it—but we knew that already.”

“Thank you for all your support, it means the world to me,” she concluded. “Stay with me, I’ll be better soon. I’m planning my future, not my legacy. Pretty beat up, but I’ve still got dreams.”

Nightbirde Receives Support For Cancer Fight

Entertainment Tonight reported that “America’s Got Talent” judges Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum each wished Nightbirde the best moving forward.

“Here’s to planning for a bright future @_nightbirde. ✨Your energy, your smile, and your amazing voice will be missed at the #agt live shows, but we’re rooting for you and your big dreams!” Vergara wrote on Instagram, with Klum adding, “@_nightbirde we will miss your energy, your passion, and your beautiful voice at the live shows. The entire #AGT family loves you and we’re all rooting for you ❤️❤️❤️”

People Magazine reported that Nightbirde had told the judges during her audition that she only had a 2% chance of surviving because her cancer had spread to her spine, lungs, and liver.

She added that while she is not okay “in every way,” she said she thought it was “important that everyone know I’m so much more than the bad things that happen to me.”

Simon Cowell Praises Her

Simon Cowell was the judge who pushed the Golden Buzzer for Nightbirde.

“I pushed my Golden Buzzer for Nightbirde because everything about her audition was really special,” he said at the time. “Her voice was absolutely stunning and performing her original song ‘It’s OK’ after she told us what she was going through with her cancer, it really moved me. This was a very, very special moment.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with Nightbirde as she continues her cancer battle.
