Former WWE Wrestler Says Goldberg Is “Horrible” – Criticizes His Worth

Former WWE superstar Rene Dupree claims Goldberg is horrible, adding to the accusations about the wrestler over the years. He did so in a recent interview, criticizing the company’s use of the veteran.

The wrestler even goes further stating he once broke his collarbone.

Goldberg is set for another WWE title shot at SummerSlam. This time, he faces none other than Bobby Lashley.

Rene Dupree worked with Goldberg in 2003. And it seems the wrestler is far from a fan.

During his interview, he was quite outspoken about Goldberg’s wrestling skills.

“Yeah he dislocated my collarbone,” Dupree revealed to the 90s Wrestling Podcast. “We (La Resistance) had a pre-tape in the back with Goldberg and he hit me with the French flag and we had to do five takes. To this day, if I try to flex it, it still hurts. Yeah he’s the s***s. He’s horrible, many wrestlers will tell you that.”

“And yet, WWE signed him to a deal where he works two times a year until 2023, so why is that? To me they (WWE) must be desperate. That’s the only thing I can figure. They can’t create new stars or they don’t have confidence in the people they have.”

Dupree is far from the only wrestler to criticize Goldberg’s wrestling skills. Numerous wrestlers claim they have gotten hurt by Goldberg in the past.

The problem with Goldberg is his likeability among wrestling fans. He may not be the best wrestler, but he is liked.

Other Wrestlers To Criticize Goldberg

One of the most outspoken critics of Goldberg is Bret Hart. This is no surprise, since Goldberg effectively ended Hart’s career.

Hart compared wrestling Goldberg to wrestling with a real-life gorilla.

“You might as well wrestle a real gorilla. He was the most dangerous guy to work with. He hurt everybody that he worked with; I remember Curt Henning being in pain all the time from the matches they had.”

“And even when I worked with Bill, I always think the last words I said to him before we went out and had that match where he injured me and ended my career, I said “Bill, whatever you do out there, don’t hurt me. We can do whatever you want, we can do anything. Just do not go nuts.”

While all these wrestlers are extremely critical of Goldberg, they do forget about one little thing. Goldberg may not be the most technical wrestler, he is certainly popular.

In the height of his fame, Goldberg was certainly a big hit with the crowd. People naturally like him, and this is one of the reasons why Goldberg has remained relevant.

Being liked is just one side of the coin though. Since Goldberg has a reputation for hurting people, it does put people in seats.

It translates into money for the WWE, which they seem to be needing right now. AEW put some stress on the company, and they hope Goldberg is the attraction to keep themselves relevant.
