Catch For Braun Strowman WWE Return, More On Bray Wyatt Release

WWE wants Braun Strowman to return, but he needs to take a pay cut. Also, the latest on Bray Wyatt being released the previous day.

Catch For Braun Strowman WWE Return

2020 and 2021 has seen WWE release employees in record numbers. Nobody is safe as wrestles and office staff have been shown the door.

During one of the many releases, Braun Strowman was sent packing. The former Universal Champion was liked by fans and even in the title picture weeks before being let go.

Apparently, Strowman’s contract was a major reason for WWE parting ways. It has been reported that Strowman made $1.2 million per year.

When that deal was being put together, AEW was making noise. Therefore, WWE did not want to lose Strowman in a contract battle, so they offered a huge amount of money.

With so many former WWE names jumping to AEW, it led to debate if Strowman’s release was the right call. And, as reported, WWE is now open to bringing Strowman back.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how they would not offer the same amount of money for a return.

“They’re interested in having Strowman back at a lower price, but who knows what things will happen,” said Meltzer.

“I guess he’s signed up to do a show in Qatar, so he’s doing some Indies. So, he’ll get a big payday off that.”

Strowman is asking for $20K per appearance, which is something few indy promotions can offer. That sounds more like something AEW could make happen.

Plus, Strowman might have trouble with the “Monster Among Men” gimmick. Nowadays, Omos and Commander Aziz better fit that title.

Speaking of releases, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt being let go left fans stunned. Even while off TV, Wyatt has remained a huge favorite with fans.

According to a report from PW Insider, employees were “stunned” as he was well liked and sold merchandise.

Now, we know a bit more about his release. Wyatt was told by WWE that the decision was a budgetary move.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, addressed the relationship between Wyatt and Vince McMahon. He noted how the two “ran very hot and cold at times.”

Also, Wyatt was apparently very protective of the character. This led to some frustration for the former WWE and Universal Champion.

For the past 12 months, Wyatt only feud with Strowman and Randy Orton. Wyatt lost repeatedly to Strowman, before his alter ego, “The Fiend,” helped him get revenge.

After quickly dropping the title, Wyatt switched his focus to Randy Orton. At one point, Orton burned “The Fiend” alive.

Months later, he returned to setup a match at WrestleMania 37. “The Fiend” lost after Alexa Bliss seemingly turned on him.

Then, the following night on RAW, Wyatt appeared in a tape promo. He spoke about a reset, but that was the last fans saw of him.

He was supposed to return to action this month, although that is off the table. If Wyatt wants to keep wrestling, he will easily find a new home.
