Ranking the worst WWE Money in the Bank reigns was not an easy thing to do. After all, there have been some stinkers over the years.

But in the end, we thought these were the absolute worst WWE Money in the Bank reigns according to us!

John Cena In 2012

One of the worst WWE Money in the Bank reigns can be attributed to John Cena. Obviously, this had a lot to do with the cash in.

After winning the briefcase, Cena decided to challenge CM Punk. And while Cena won the match, he did not win the title.

You may wonder how that works? Well, Big Show helped get a disqualification.

Because of the disqualification, CM Punk retained his title. Interestingly, this was also the first time the contract did not give the holder a title win.

Damien Sandow in 2013

The 2013 MITB was confusing to say the least. After all, it led to the betrayal of Cody Rhodes by Damien Sandow.

Eventually, the betrayal led to a feud between Rhodes and Sandow. However, it did not reach much further than mid-level card.

To make matters worse, Sandow cashed in on none other than John Cena. And Sandow decided to cash in on an injured Cena.

Despite facing a “weaker” John Cena, he still didn’t manage to pull it off. From that moment, the career of Damien Sandow in WWE went downhill.

This is quite the warning for most WWE stars on the roster today. If you lose Money in the Bank in a major way, it could mean the end of your career as a WWE wrestler.

Baron Corbin in 2017

Despite being littered with the best wrestlers on the roster, WWE decided to go with Baron Corbin in 2017. However, fans were not too excited about it.

Even though Corbin turned into an outstanding wrestler over the past couple of years. He was far from ready back in 2017.

And to everyone’s surprise, things got worse for Corbin after his MITB win. In the end, he failed his bout in the worst way possible.

Corbin decided to cash in on Jinder Mahal while facing John Cena. However, Cena caused a distraction which led to a loss for Corbin.

Otis in 2020

A MITB win should have been the thing to take Otis to the next level. Instead, it made a joke out of a wrestler who could have easily become A-list.

Otis may have won the briefcase, but the contract changed hands numerous times before the actual cash-in. In the end, it led to a feud with The Miz and the loss of the contract.

I don’t think a win could become that horrible for the same wrestler.

Braun Strowman in 2018

This is another example of the poor WWE storytelling. Strowman was a hot commodity at the time of his win, but it would not last.

Strowman basically got overshadowed by the likes of Brock Lesnar. So, the Monster Among Men looked like less of a monster every passing day.

In the end, he had the worst reign of them all.
