Country singer and songwriter Carly Pearce got the surprise of her life when she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry by none other than Dolly Parton.
Pearce thought she was filming a promotional video for Dollywood, a park that’s near and dear to her heart. In fact, she left high school at 16 and took a job at Dollywood. Pearce loved cutting her teeth at the theme park because she loved Dolly.
As Carly was sharing her memories of Dollywood, Parton herself walked in.
Carly was completely stunned. Then Dolly began singing her praises and mentioning Carly’s 80 performances at the Grand Ole Opry.
“You should be a member of the Grand Ole Opry! What’s the matter with them?” the “Jolene” singer asked.
“I agree,” Carly replied.
That’s when Dolly dropped the big news.
