It’s been nearly one year since the world of country music lost a legend. Charlie Daniels is still missed by millions of fans to this day but those fans are in for a treat as a special tribute album is set to drop July 2021.
Fans of ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia’ artist will get one more chance to enjoy his music when his posthumous album “Duets” comes out.
The “Duets” album features Charlie Daniels performing with such country music greats as Dolly Parton, Darius Rucker, Brenda Lee, Vince Gill, the Del McCoury Band, Brad Paisley, and more.
The album will be dropping on July 16, and will be available on walmart.com via Blue Hat Records & BFD/Audium Nashville.
“The process of putting this project together was a wonderful time of reflection and it became an overwhelming reminder of how great these tracks are,” David Corlew, Blue Hat Records president and Daniels’ longtime manager, said in a statement obtained by The Tennessean. “The best of the best joined Charlie in sharing musical styles and great songs.”
“Duets” will include Garth Brooks singing harmony on Daniels’ song “Waco,” Gretchen Wilson teaming up with him for a cover of cross-genre 1960s hit “Jackson,” and Brooks & Dunn performing on the Charlie Daniels Band staple “Long Haired Country Boy.”
Meanwhile, Dolly Parton will be singing the song “Daddy’s Old Fiddle” on the album with Charlie Daniels.

After Charlie Daniels passed away in July of 2020, none other than the legendary miss Dolly Parton herself was one of the first people to pay tribute.
“Well, the devil went down to Georgia, but Charlie went straight to heaven,” Parton said at the time, according to Taste Of Country. “My heart, like many millions of others, is broken today to find out that we’ve lost our dear friend Charlie Daniels. It was such a shock. He was one of the great people in the business and one of the greatest entertainers ever. He will live on in our hearts. Rest in peace, Charlie.”
