Hazel Charlie Daniels Trump tribute

Hazel Daniels, the widow of country music legend Charlie Daniels who passed away earlier this month at the age of 83, just revealed that President Donald Trump sent her a personal condolence letter after her husband’s passing that left her feeling touched.

Trump Sends His Condolences To Charlie Daniels’ Family

Hazel Daniels and her son Charlie Daniels Jr. took to Instagram to reveal the full letter that Trump had sent her. It read as follows:

Dear Hazel:

I was saddened to learn of the loss of your beloved husband, Charlie, and send my deepest condolences.

Charlie will forever be remembered as a true American patriot, and his contributions to country music will be celebrated for generations. He inspired many Americans with his unyielding support of our brave men and women in uniform. Your husband reminded us that we must honor those who have sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms. Our great Nation depends on artists like Charlie who promote love of country. He will be greatly missed.

During this difficult time, the First Lady and I send our prayers to you, your family, and all who loved Charlie. May his music continue to reverberate in the hearts of countless Americans.

“Mr. President, we are honored that you would think of us in our time of grieving,” Hazel and Charlie, Jr., wrote in the caption of the post. “Thank you so much, @realdonaldtrump.”

Trump Pays Tribute To Charlie Daniels On Twitter

One day after Daniels died of a hemorrhagic stroke, Trump took to Twitter to honor “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” singer.

Trump also reportedly sent an audio message that was played at Daniels’ memorial service after his death.

“He loved our country, he loved our family and he loved his music,” Trump said. “He was special. He was as good as it gets.”

Mike Huckabee Honors Daniels As Well

During this same memorial, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee paid tribute to Daniels as well.

“Charlie Daniels’ America is a place we’re all better off for having him touch it, love it and lead it,” Huckabee said. “We’re gonna miss him dearly, but he will never play again to an empty seat. He’s going to fill Heaven’s stadiums with his unique sound and soul.”
