KISS Frontman Gene Simmons Defends Tim Tebow From Anti-Christian Attacks

Tim Tebow has an ally in Gene Simmons. The KISS frontman is coming to the the Heisman Trophy winner’s defense as Tebow prepares for his NFL return while facing criticism from Colin Kaepernick supporters

After a six year hiatus, Tebow is prepping for a return as a tight end with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It is reported that he being signed to a one year deal.

During his extended off season, Tebow played professional baseball and continued his charitable work.

Tim Tebow Accused of “White Privilege”

This has set him in the crosshairs of those angry that Colin Kaepernick still is without a job in the NFL.

It is every being called “white privilege.”

They are pointing out that both football players kneel but are treated differently. While Tebow kneels during games to give thanks to God, Kapernick kneels to protest.

That’s quite a difference.

It also should be noted that Tebow has been a unifying force on his prior teams.

And, he is a draw for fans.

NFL attendance has taken a dive since Kaepernick started the trend of protesting during the National Anthem.

Gene Simmons Supports Tim Tebow

Israeli born Gene Simmons believes this criticism of Tim Tebow is absurd and bigoted.

Simmons recognizes the athlete is discriminated against for his strong Christian beliefs.

“I support Tim Tebow. He was widely criticized and made fun of, simply because he is a man of faith, who believed in his Christian values. Shame on the NFL and the rest of the world for stooping so low” Simmons tweeted earlier this week.

Others who agree with Simmons are chiming in:

This isn’t the first time Gene Simmons has defended Tim Tebow.

KISS Rocker Understands

As a Jew, Simmons understands religious bigotry and he recognizes that it is being launched at Tebow.

Simmons believes religion is “good for mankind” and should not be mocked.

“He’s got a religious passion, as well he should, we’re in America,” Simmons said about Tebow in 2018. “He’s proud to be a Christian, what’s wrong with that? And yet, with sports media and pop culture media, they make fun of his religion. Really? In America? If he was wearing a burqa, they wouldn’t dare say anything. But if you’re a Christian, you get to be picked on? What the hell? The guy’s got family values. I never saw the media picking on Michael Vick for torturing dogs. Or this other football player, who’s alleged to have killed, committed murder. That’s ‘cool.’ But a guy who’s religious and has got family values isn’t ‘cool?’ He’s cool to me.”
