Actor Dennis Quaid is preparing to film the upcoming biopic Reagan, in which he portrays the legendary conservative former President Ronald Reagan. In a new interview this week, Quaid gushed over having the chance to play Reagan.

He also talked about scoring some of the former president’s memorabilia in anticipation of taking the role.

Quaid Discusses Playing Reagan

He opens up about playing Reagan while appearing on “Daily Blast Live.”

Quaid told the hosts that the part of Reagan is “maybe the most challenging role … in my career.”

“For one thing, he was my favorite president,” Quaid said. “I mean, he’s an icon. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Quaid Talks ‘Pawn Stars’ Appearance

Quaid made an appearance recently on the reality television show “Pawn Stars.” He was called in to authenticate his own signature on an early poster for the film.

During his appearance on the “Pawn Stars,” Quaid was shown various pieces of memorabilia that once belonged to Reagan, including a flying cap and a pendant with a personalized note to actress Adele Jergens, who Reagan once dated.

Quaid ended up leaving with the pendant, which featured St. Genesius, the patron saint of actors. It cost Quaid $2,750, but he felt it was worth every penny.

“I’m a big fan of [‘Pawn Stars’] going way back, actually,” Quaid said.” “Being given a memento of Reagan’s life, that was a lot of fun to do.”

Here’s Quaid talking with Rick Harrison about the movie:

Quaid Was Confused At First When Offered This Role

Quaid has previously admitted that he was confused at first when he was offered the role of Reagan.

“I didn’t understand why they were offering me Ronald Reagan because I just didn’t see it,” Quaid told Entertainment Weekly. “I admired him so much, and so I had a chill of fear go down my spine when I was offered it. That’s usually kind of a sign that maybe I should do it, because it’s out of my comfort zone.”

Producer Mark Joseph, however, knew from the start that Quaid was perfect for the part.

“He already has the look, and then he just had that smile and that optimism, the kind of things you can’t make up for with hair and makeup,” Joseph said of the actor. “Honestly, if you had magically told me you could have any actor you want in Hollywood or Dennis Quaid, I literally would have chosen Dennis Quaid.”

Democrats will undoubtedly have a big problem with this movie, as they have gone all-out in demonizing Reagan as they do all Republicans.

We applaud Quaid for taking on this role, and we can’t wait to see the movie!
