‘The Talk’ Ratings Plummet After Sharon Osbourne’s Exit – Now Lowest-Rated Daytime Program

Last month, Sharon Osbourne was effectively forced to leave “The Talk” after she dared to defend her friend Piers Morgan from claims that he is racist, simply for criticizing Meghan Markle.

Piers Morgan wasted no time weighing in on the show’s ratings.

Now, however, this has come back to bite “The Talk” in a big way. The show’s ratings have plummeted since Osbourne left. And, one other cohost has taken a leave of absence.

“The Talk” returned to CBS on April 12 after a month-long hiatus following Osbourne’s fiery exchange with her cohost Sheryl Osbourne.

‘The Talk’ Ratings Plummet

Since the show came back, however, the number of people tuning in has dropped.

Soap Opera Network reported that during the week of April 12-16, “The Talk’s” ratings dipped to the No. 13 spot. That’s last place in both the Women 18-49 demographic and the Women 25-54 demographic.

It seems that many viewers had no interest in watching Underwood whine about the “trauma” she suffered at Osbourne’s hands in the first episode back.

“I feel like I’ve been in, like, PTSD because it was a trauma,” Underwood said in the April 12 episode, according to Fox News.

She continued, “And I feel like I want to get past this because I really wanted to get back to work with my friends and my colleagues and the crew … but I also wanted to get back to the audience.”

Carrie Ann Inaba Takes Leave Of Absence

Things got even messier for “The Talk” last week, when cohost Carrie Ann Inaba announced that she was taking a leave of absence from the show to focus on her wellbeing.

The 53-year-old “Dancing With the Stars” judge did not give any more details about why exactly she chose to take this break now. However, she has been open about her autoimmune problems in the past and suffers from lupus and Sjögren’s syndrome and several other health-related issues.

Osbourne left “The Talk” after CBS conducted an investigation into her fight with Underwood.

This investigation concluded that Osbourne’s “behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.”

This Is Vindication For Osbourne

What happened to Osbourne here was nothing short of terrifying. She was effectively “cancelled” for defending a friend from racism claims, without even saying anything that could be construed as racist herself.

The fact that ratings for “The Talk” have plummeted in the wake of this travesty is a heartening reminder that there really is a silent majority of Americans that have had enough of this politically correct, cancel culture nonsense.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
