NASCAR’s Bubba Wallace Promises Fight For ‘Social Justice’ Will Be A ‘Never-Ending Battle’

NASCAR star Bubba Wallace just said that the fight for social justice is a "never-ending battle" as he promotes vaccines.

Bubba Wallace continues his plight to become the Colin Kaepernick of the NASCAR world. This week, the driver turned activist spoke out in the wake of several highly publicized police shootings to lament the fight for social justice is a “never-ending battle”.

Last week, Wallace tweeted the names of Adam Toledo and Daunte Wright to his nearly 500 thousand Twitter followers. Wright’s name was accompanied by NASCAR’s new inclusivity video.

“It seems like every day now is a different hashtag,” Wallace said, according to Yahoo News. “Just sad. I’m proud of the efforts from NASCAR continuing to try to show that we are as inclusive as any other sport and we want everyone to come out.”

Wallace, who is the only black driver racing in NASCAR full-time, said this as he talked about how tired he is of having to tweet out the names of victims of police shootings.

Wallace went on to add that the push for social and racial justice feels interminable to him.

“It’s a never-ending battle,” he added. “And as we see each and every day and we’ll try to do our part and hopefully society will one day wake up and treat each other with respect.”

Bubba Wallace Promotes COVID-19 Vaccine

NBC Sports reported that Wallace is also trying to use his platform to encourage people to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I’m not trying to shove it down people’s throats,” Wallace said. “I’m just saying, ‘Hey, I’m comfortable taking this route to get us back to a normal capacity in all aspects of life – go back to what we used to do.’

“… People I know are very hesitant on trying out some experimental shot or vaccine,” he added. “But I’m okay right now. I feel good. And knowing I’m doing my part, a small part, to help everybody feel comfortable (with getting vaccinated) is big.”

He Warns Of Potential Vaccine Misinformation

Wallace then talked about the potential for further misinformation regarding all COVID-19 vaccines in the wake of Johnson & Johnson vaccinations being paused.

“I think everything you read is kind of misinformed by the news, no matter what it is, so you’ve just kind of got to pick and choose and you have to do your research,” he said. “You can’t just sit there and let people do it for you. Do your due diligence. Make sure you’ve checked off every box on the list to make sure you’re comfortable moving forward with whatever avenue it is.

“That’s kind of how I’ve gone about things, as of recently,” Wallace added. “It’s like, ‘I hear these things, but let me check it out. Let me talk to family and friends and see if they’ve heard anything different to make (me) feel comfortable moving forward.’”

Bubba Wallace rarely misses an opportunity to make a situation all about himself, does he?

The NASCAR driver loves attention. Of course, the media is quick to give it to him thanks to his political stance.

Oh, what a world we live in these days…
