Marie Osmond Reveals Why Lucille Ball Was Her Favorite Costar

Marie Osmond has worked with many people over the years, but one experience she’s never forgotten is working with the legendary Lucille Ball. In a recent interview, Osmond reminisced about working with Ball. She also revealed the major life lessons that the “I Love Lucy” star taught her.

Osmond also recently took to Twitter to post some photos of when she paid tribute to Ball by being made up to look just like her character from “I Love Lucy.”

‘I Have Worked With The Greats’

“I have worked with the greats,” Osmond, 60, told Closer Weekly. “I mean, I have been so blessed.”

Osmond added that it’s “mind-boggling” to think about the fact that she worked with such legends as John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin.

She even got the chance to work with the original cast of “Charlie’s Angels,” which consisted of Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, and Kate Jackson. 

“And the ladies, I loved working with the ladies ’cause I watched ’em all get ready, OK?” Marie joked. “I know all their secrets — but I will never write the book.”

“It’s so funny how you’re hard on yourself,” she added, referring to how these women made her who she is today.

“You learn a lot about self-worth and self-esteem. Doesn’t matter if your show is popular. I was standing by these beautiful women, and I just learned a lot watching them.”

Lucille Ball Was Her Favorite Costar 

Her favorite costar by far, however, was Lucille Ball, who appeared on season 3 episode 2 of the “Donny & Marie” variety show, which aired September 30, 1977.

Lucille makes her appearance around the 5:26 mark, take a look:

“She was beautiful and funny — and I love funny. She was not afraid to put herself out there,” Marie reminisced of Ball.

“I learned at a very young age you should be able [to] just laugh. Laugh at yourself, don’t take things so seriously.”

“She truly was a brilliant woman,” she continued. “She had her own studio and just was so smart. I’d go over to her house and she’d play Scrabble, and [I have] just really just great memories.”

Ball Stands Out From All The Rest

Osmond doesn’t want to disrespect any of the many people she’s worked with over the years. But, Lucille Ball just stands out from all the rest to this day.

Ball passed away in 1989 at the age of 77, but she has never been forgotten by Osmond and the millions of fans who will continue to love her and laugh at her hilarious comedic escapades.
