Fresh of the epic UFC 259 card we move forward with UFC Vegas 21 and a welterweight main event between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad.

The event takes place from the Apex in Las Vegas, airing live on ESPN+.

Edwards was originally scheduled to meet Khamzat Chimaev, but Chimaev was scratched due to testing positive for COVID-19. The bout was scheduled once again, only to fall apart once more.

With that, Muhammad jumped at the opening, agreeing to face Edwards.

The 29-year-old Edwards, from Kingston, Jamaica, has been on quite the run as of late. Since a 2015 decision loss to current UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, he has scored eight consecutive wins, besting the likes of Rafael dos Anjos, Gunnar Nelson and Donald Cerrone during his streak.

Of those eight wins, two have been via finish. Edwards has also been all over the world, fighting in San Antonio, London, Singapore and the Netherlands.

The 32-year-old Muhammad kicked off his 2021 with a decision victory over Dhiego Lima in February at UFC 258. That marked his fourth consecutive win and eighth over his last nine fights.

Muhammad has earned wins over Lima, Lyman Good, Tim Means and Jordan Mein since 2017, and is 18-3 overall in his career.

The card is also scheduled to feature Misha Cirkunov vs. Ryan Spann in a light heavyweight affair, Ben Rothwell vs. Philipe Lins at heavyweight, Dan Ige vs. Gavin Tucker at featherweight and Angela Hill vs. Ashley Youder in the women’s strawweight ranks.
