It’s been nearly two weeks since the CBS talk show “The Talk” went completely off the rails as cohost Sharon Osbourne stood by her friend Piers Morgan after he was accused of racism for criticizing Meghan Markle. Now, a source close to Osbourne says there’s only one way that Ozzy’s wife would walk away from the daytime show quietly.

As backlash against Osbourne has continued to grow, it’s been reported that she’s demanding “tens of millions” from CBS executives if they want her to quit the show.

A source close to the daytime talk show host told The Sun that Osbourne is defiantly refusing to step away from the show. She’s saying that she will instead only consider leaving if she is given a massive eight-figure payout.

“She is furious about the slew of accusations made about her and is refusing to bow to the mounting pressure to leave,” the insider said. “As far as she is concerned, she apologized over the on-air debate and hasn’t done anything else wrong.”

“She has a contract and they will have to pay her off if they want her to leave and that will cost them tens of millions,” the source added. “If bosses expect her to go quietly, they have got another thing coming.”

The insider concluded that Osbourne is eager to put this entire episode behind her and move on with her life.

Heated Exchange With Sheryl Underwood

Sharon Osbourne and her “The Talk” cohost Sheryl Underwood engaged in a heated on-air debate about the way Piers Morgan responded to Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Underwood appeared to imply that even though Morgan didn’t say anything racist, the way he as a white man spoke about a woman of color like Markle had racist undertones.

Osbourne, however, was not having any of it.

“Why is it that because I supported a longtime friend and work colleague for years, people go ‘well you must be racist because he’s racist,'” Osbourne said on the show, according to the U.K. Mirror. 

“No. I support his freedom of speech. I’m not racist and neither is Piers racist. What have I ever said about anybody that’s racist? It’s not within me. It’s not in my soul.”

Sharon Osbourne Blames ‘The Talk’ Producers For Piers Morgan Controversy

Though Osbourne issued an apology afterwards, she also believes that she was set up by producers, and that the incident will cost her her job. 

“I kind of think they’re going use me as a sacrificial lamb and fire me. It’s fine. It’s fine. It hasn’t happened yet but I’m sure it will,” she said afterwards. 

“I don’t know what they’ll do,” Osbourne added. “It’s a big, ugly mess. But I didn’t start it. I didn’t start it. It’s down to the producers of the show.”

The way Osbourne is being publicly shamed simply for defending a friend who was falsely accused of racism should send a disturbing message to everyone about just how far cancel culture has gone.

Given the fact that this incident has made Sharon Osbourne the latest target of the cancel culture mob, she might just deserve an eight-figure payoff after all.
