will the miz survive

Welcome to another Monday, and with it another RAW In A Nutshell. This week’s burning question: will The Miz survive the night?

After all, WWE Champion The Miz is set to face Bobby Lashley on RAW, with that very championship on the line.

Considering that Lashley’s grown angrier each time The Miz has attempted to duck the challenger? It’s a major question as to whether or not The Miz will survive the night.

Outside of that scheduled championship match, expect this week to be loading up on Fastlane fun. The next PPV is rapidly approaching, and so far we really have a lot of card to lock in.

Though, through it all, I come back to that lingering question on whether or not The Miz will survive. Well…will he?

Guess we should just get into…

RAW In A Nutshell: Will The Miz Survive The Night?

will the miz survive

Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out!

Best Match of the night:

I have an odd…perhaps unconventional choice.

Bobby Lashley and The Miz, closing the show with the lumberjack match. Lashley squashed The Miz for the title.

I am not necessarily jazzed about a Lashley reign…but I can at least look at him and understand why. He’s a freak athlete, he’s been dominant, and The Hurt Business has been a top draw of late.

He is a much more exciting champion than Miz, that’s for sure.

And, with that, we have our answer: no, The Miz will not survive the night.

Worst match of the night:

The Miz countout at the 10pm part of the show. Just didn’t need it, aside from wasting/killing time.

Also, the joke of a RAW Tag Title match for Strowman. That got lost in the shuffle of the show’s ending, but I assume it will be used to set up Shane and Braun for next month.

Star of the Night

Bobby Lashley. The coronation a long time in the making is finally here.

The one thing Miz said that I agree with? That the title win for Lashley deserved to be on a bigger stage.

That said, Lashley’s win this RAW? It felt a great deal like when Lesnar absolutely destroyed John Cena at SummerSlam a few years back.

Spot of the Night:

I don’t even know what to call it, but how about whatever we got at the end of the Mustafa Ali/Riddle match. I don’t know that it went quite as it was supposed too…but it was something.

Jobber of the Night:

That would be The Miz, and it isn’t even close.

Upset of the Night:

I suppose they will spin Ali over Riddle as an upset.

Also, Miz will be (and was) upset all night.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

That spot that Ali did to finish off Riddle.

Part of it was holy sh** could have been cool. Part holy sh** that looked like a hot mess.

Like, something didn’t quite happen? I don’t know.

I watched it, and I felt like it was an incomplete move or something. Maybe it was just me.

Botch of the night:

Somewhat surprising to me, but it sure looked like there were some sloppy spots between Damien Priest and Elias.

Specifically at least one roll-up. I feel like there was another obvious botch in there too…but it escapes me at the moment.

LOL Moment of the night:

The Miz was over the top funny with some of his emotions and heel behavior. Made me laugh.

Noteworthy Moment:

Is it just me, or is WWE potentially setting us up for Elias and Ryker against Damien Priest and Bad Bunny as the WrestleMania match?

I mean…it kind of felt that way to me tonight. Maybe it only felt like that because Miz still has that pesky title around his waist.

That said, I am not interested in Miz/Morrison versus Priest and Bunny. I would be even less interested in a match where you swap Miz and Morrison for Elias and Rkyer, to be honest.

Also, as was expected, Charlotte dropped a challenge for Asuka and the RAW Women’s Championship for WrestleMania.

Predictable, for sure. Could be a big match…but I’d almost rather a different match there.

Overall lowlights:

On one hand, sure, having Miz run away and get counted out plays up that he’s going to be the lame, annoying, wimpy heel. That part is all fine and dandy…

I have it as a lowlight, however, because the first non-match, plus the main event segment, and the whole set of countdowns? Just took up way too much of the show, relative to how disinterested I think a lot of fans are in The Miz.

And, while we are discussing The Miz…his title reign, his cash in, the whole MITB debacle? That was a lowlight too.

Overall highlights:

It was something that I think we expected for quite a while…but Bobby Lashley is finally WWE Champion.

After the final bell:

I am glad we are finally getting the long-expected Lashley world champion run.

Though, could someone tell me why WWE is now seemingly incapable of executing a Money In The Bank briefcase use anymore? And, for that matter, how Miz jobbing to Lashley far surpasses what Otis could have done with the case?

Literally the ONLY reason Miz had it and cashed in was so it would be he, and not Drew, losing it to Lashley.

Sure, Lashley crushed The Miz…but you could have had Lashley defeat McIntyre in decisive fashion too.

And thus concludes a fairly eventful RAW In A Nutshell!
