Bobby Lashley – Retirement Talk, WWE Forced To Scrap Title Change

Despite finally being WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley did talk about retirement in the not so distant future. Also, WWE a title change was planned before Lacey Evans got pregnant.

Bobby Lashley – WWE Retirement Talk

Bobby Lashley is in his second run with WWE. The first went well, but now he is the WWE Champion.

After several false starts, Lashley finally met The Miz in the main event of RAW. In a matter of minutes, Lashley started his first WWE Championship reign.

At 44 years old, Lashley’s first reign is in the latter part of his career. In fact, Lashley told Bleacher Report he planned to retire in a few years.

“I know with my career that’s it’s not going to be a thing where I have 10, 15, 20 more years,” said Lashley. “Some of these guys do, so mine is kind of a sprint right now.

“I don’t mind that. I don’t mind ramping it up a little bit.”

“Because, like I said, I don’t have 10 to 15 more years. I have a few more years left.”

“There’s a lot of goals I want to accomplish, so I have to go hard. My body’s been able to take the abuse I’ve given it, and I knew I could keep going, so I knew it was my time.”

The timing of the title win likely means Lashley enters WrestleMania 37 as champion. A match with Drew McIntyre seems like the next logical step.

For Lashley, the win is about 15 years in the making. Pairing him with MVP might have been the best move.

Of course, there is always the possibility WWE will make Lashley a deal he cannot refuse. Finally, they are seeing his potential.

WWE Forced To Scrap Title Change

WWE started a big angle with Lacey Evans and the Flair family, but plans change. When Evans learned she was pregnant, the angle was quickly dropped.

Apparently, had everything gone as planned, Evans would have defeated Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship at Elimination Chamber. Obviously, the match did not take place and Asuka was given the night off.

Fightful Select continued how this would lead to WrestleMania 37 with Charlotte Flair challenging Evans. Now, it seems WWE will see Flair and Asuka meet again at WrestleMania.

Of course, they met years ago with Asuka coming in undefeated and winning the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. Charlotte won, in what was as a surprise move.

The angle with Evans and Ric Flair was questionable to start. Seemingly, the two were romantically linked despite the number of decades between them.

When Evan got pregnant, WWE tweaked the angle two tease Flair as the father. About a week later, the angle was dropped and Ric might now be off TV.

As noted, there is speculation that Asuka is dealing with a possible concussion. It is another setback the women’s division is feeling on the RAW brand.
