Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has found himself in the crossfire of liberal journalists who attempt to politicize everything including sports just ahead of Super Bowl LV.

A recent opinion piece in USA Today accused the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ star quarterback of using his white privilege for political gain. 

Brady is not political, but that’s not enough for woke journalist Nancy Armour or Shannon Sharpe.

The fact that Brady has a friendship with Donald Trump made him a target. When he should be asked about the Super Bowl, Brady is instead made to squirm over racial issues.

Shannon Sharpe Attacks Tom Brady

It all started when “Undisputed” co-host Shannon Sharpe said that Brady would not have been given a pass for his support of Donald Trump if the Buccaneers quarterback was Black.

The Fox One host said Black athletes aren’t “given as much room to weigh in on political topics and topics that could be controversial.”

Half of the country supported Donald Trump, but Sharpe feels this is controversial.

The manufactured controversy is that Brady has a cordial relationship with Trump. Sharpe went so far as to compare it to if Lebron James was friendly with Louis Farakkhan, a well known anti-Semite.

USA Today Accueses Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback Of White Privilege

USA Today’s Nancy Armour continued with this theme of attempting to smear Brady for having a political opinion that differs from her own.

She took the opportunity to ask Tom Brady about it in an interview. She spoke with Brady then turned to her keyboard to accuse him of having white privilege.

The Make America Great Again hat in his locker, the flippant endorsement of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump. Only when those ties became inconvenient did Brady decide he wanted to “stick to sports,” and that he preferred to be a beacon of positivity rather than delve into society’s thorny ills.

How mighty white of him.

Brady’s ability to enter and exit the debate at his choosing, to shield himself from accountability, is the height of white privilege. As this country grapples with the far reaches of systemic racism, look no further than Brady, for whom the expectations, and allowances granted, will always be different.

Tom Brady’s 10th Super Bowl

This isn’t the first time Nancy Armour has done his. The white liberal who fancies herself as a sportswriter, called Drew Brees “willfully ignorant” because his comments about standing for the National Anthem.

Now, multiple left wing organizations like Huffington Post are using her latest interview and column about Tom Brady as an opportunity to paint him with a racial brush.

Sunday will mark Brady’s 10th Super Bowl appearance.

That’s an amazing feat but liberal journalists want to make this accomplish about politics rather than athleticism.
