Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has a new show on NBC that might help him launch a future run for president. The former wrestler-turned movie star confirms that he is indeed considering a presidential run.
“Young Rock” will introduce us to the star’s very unique childhood.
The show chronicles his childhood and how he spent significant time with his father wrestling legend Rocky “Soul Man” Johnson’s friends, including Andre the Giant.
The Rock said viewers will get a front row seat to his “wildly Forrest Gump-ian life that I have been lucky enough to have, (which)was complex and awesome and crazy and unbelievable.”

In the premier episode, 10-year-old Rock tells professional wrestlers their sport is “fake.”
That didn’t sit well with Andre the Giant who lifted the child from his armpits and told him “never to use the F word.”
The Rock talks about this in the Instagram video below.
“Honestly, what would happen is when I stepped out of line like that, I would be brought into the ring,” The Rock says. “Their way of discipline was to take me in the ring. And beat my a– in a way that I learned actually how not fake wrestling is.”

In 2017, the star said he would consider a presidential run. As his television show debuts, he confirms that this option is still on the table.
“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted,” The Rock says. “Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people…So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.”
In the days leading up to the 2020 election, the wrestler-turned-actor endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Choosing a side in a divisive election did not sit well with many of his established fans.
After hearing Biden won the election, The Rock claimed he cried “manly tears” because he saw this win as a move towards decency and a win for “little girls.”
No mention was made of Biden’s public displays of affection towards girls.
Now, the actor is considering launching a 2032 White House bid.
“Young Rock” premieres tonight at 8 pm/7 Central on NBC.
