Country Singer Jimmie Allen Tweets About Forgiveness In Face of Morgan Allen Controversy

Country singer Jimmie Allen has spoken about the importance of forgiveness in the aftermath of Morgan Wallen being caught saying a racial slur. As one of Country music’s most well known Black artists, Jimmie Allen’s opinion likely holds some weight with many of the genre’s fans.

Wallen was suspended by his record label and dropped by agency after a video of him using a racial slur became widespread.

He even was disqualified for the American Country Music Awards.

Apparently, Allen thinks everyone should take a step back a deep breath because people make mistakes.

Wallen apologized for using the N-word, but that didn’t stop radio stations from dropping his songs. But, his fans are buying his albums; and his album “Dangerous: The Double Album” occupies the top spot for a fourth week on Billboard’s all-genre albums chart.

Wallen said:

“I’m embarrassed and sorry. I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”

However, he apparently has a supporter in Jimmie Allen.

Jimmie Allen’s Tweets

Without mentioning Wallen’s name, Allen published a series of tweets to let his opinions be known. It was clear what he was speaking about.

“Forgiveness is more powerful than abandonment. Our job as humans is to help each other be the best version of themselves,” the Country star tweeted.

“It’s not about what is easiest….it’s about what is right. In order to receive forgiveness, we must give forgiveness,” Allen continued.

Cancel culture doesn’t allow for any error.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t give people any chance to improve, change, or even explain.

Allen appears to understand this as he advocates for Morgan Wallen. We all make mistakes.

Allen Advocates For Accountability

“Accountability is very important..we all must be held accountable for our actions,” Jimmie Allen’s third tweet reads. “Looking over my life and my mistakes I remember the consequences I had to face, but I also remember the people that didnt give up me and were willing to help me DO better. Thankful for those people.”

Fans of Allen’s should recognize these themes from his music.

His hit “Best Shot” is about redemption and being best man you can be.

It mentions God and amazing grace, which is incredibly fitting for this situation.
