Top Star Jay White Could Be Headed To WWE, Tessa Blanchard – AEW

WWE could be landing a huge name as rumors are swirling Jay White may be on his way out of NJPW. Also, AEW seems like they might take the risk and bring Tessa Blanchard in.

Top Star Jay White Could Be Headed To WWE

There could be a big name joining WWE and it is none other than Jay White. Considering the actions in the main event of day two at Wrestle Kingdom 15, speculation continues to grow.

White lost to Kota Ibushi for the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Titles. At the post-show conference, White said he was done with pro wresting after all his sacrifices.

The comments from White initially had people believe it was all an angle. Although, Super J-Cast reports that WWE made a strong play to sign White.

As of now, there is said to be a 50/50 chance of White re-signing with New Japan Pro Wrestling. The contract is supposedly up at the end of the month.

To add, Wrestle Votes noted how there are those who are pushing WWE to make the deal official. We do not know who is talking to management, but White has friends in WWE such as Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Now if he does sign with WWE, some think NXT should not be a stop. There is enough people impressed that they want White to join RAW or SmackDown and be thrusted into the main event picture.

Tessa Blanchard – AEW

Speaking of WWE signing talent, there are lots of pro wrestlers around the world currently looking for a promotion to call home. For Tessa Blanchard, she is possibly the biggest female free agent.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been conversations about her signing with AEW. Nothing is official, but the promotion is not against the idea.

The biggest concern with Blanchard is accusations from her past. People have claimed she has a reputation to hold others back, is racist and a known backstage bully.

Clearly, these previous comments are the reason she is yet to sign with any major wrestling promotion.

During her run in Impact Wrestling, Blanchard made history. At Hard To Kill, she became the company’s first female to win their world championship.

She was able to defend the title for several months, but running into travel issues related to COVID-19. Blanchard was stuck in Mexico and refused to corporate with Impact Wrestling.

They wanted her to drop the title over the summer, although she refused. No programs could be booked as she also would not send over taped promos to help build any angles.

In the end, Impact Wrestling stripped her of the belt. A historic moment was tarnished by accusations and the ending was not pretty either.

There is no denying AEW has a solid roster, but their women’s division is not on par. WWE has the best female wrestlers with Impact Wrestling also developing some future stars in the past two years.

Adding Blanchard to AEW would certainly elevate the scene. Yet, the backlash and likely bad press is something they want to avoid.
