Country music legend Dolly Parton shocked her fans and showed a whole new side of herself in an interview in which she revealed that “sex” is her weakness. Dolly also joked about being “sick” of Carl Dean, her husband of 54 years.
“My husband and I have been together for 57 years and married for 54, and I’m sick of him and I’m sure he’s sick of me,” said Parton, 74, while appearing on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast.
Later in the interview, when Parton was asked about her vices, she replied, “My weaknesses have always been men, sex and food and not necessarily in that order.”
No doubt many a woman can relate to that. I know I can’t argue with the sex and food part.
Dolly Parton and Dean have been married since 1966.
Yet while she has become an internationally known superstar in the decades since then, he has avoided the spotlight.
Dolly recently discussed this in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying that Dean is so good at staying out of the spotlight that some of her fans have even questioned if he is a real person.
“A lot of people have thought that through the years, because he does not want to be in the spotlight at all,” the “Jolene” singer said. “It’s just not who he is. He’s like, a quiet, reserved person and he figured if he ever got out there in that, he’d never get a minute’s peace and he’s right about that.”
“I’ve always respected and appreciated that in him and I’ve always tried to keep him out of the limelight as much as I can,” she added. “He said, ‘I didn’t choose this world, I chose you, and you chose that world. But we can keep our lives separate and together.’ And we do and we have. We’ve been together 56 years, married 54.”

Nevertheless, Dolly Parton and her husband Carl Dean remain lovingly devoted to one another.
The 74-year-old recently revealed that they even renewed their vows four years ago for their 50th anniversary. How sweet!
“We didn’t get a chance to have that big old wedding that we wanted to,” Parton said. “I wanted that beautiful gown and all that. I had the money to do it this time, so we just kind of went all out. We did do it at home, close quarters and all, but we did get to wear that beautiful gown and he got to dress up in his beautiful suit. We made beautiful pictures and he bought me another wedding ring. I still have my originals, wouldn’t take nothing for those.”
Though this couple may sometimes get “sick” of each other, it’s clear they won’t be calling it quits anytime soon!
