To celebrate Robert Irwin’s 17th birthday, the people who work at Australia Zoo gave him a present that proves he is fulfilling all of his dad, Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin’s, wishes and dreams.

Robert Irwin didn’t get the chance to grow up knowing his father. Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin died before his son’s third birthday.
While his dad wasn’t there in the physical sense, Robert was constantly influenced by his father’s work. He grew up at Steve’s Australia Zoo.
Thanks to his wife Terry, and now son Robert and daughter Bindi, Australia Zoo has continued to blossom after the Crocodile Hunter’s death.

Like his father, Robert has done numerous television appearances promoting conservation. He shares Steve’s passion for animals.
Anyone who loses a parent at a young age is left wondering what that parent would think of them. Thanks to the Crocodile Hunter’s countless television and video performances, Robert and Bindi really don’t need to doubt that their father would be proud.
Robert shared a video the crew at Australia Zoo put together as a birthday present.

Steve Irwin’s Video Message For Robert’s 17th Birthday
“When they’re ready to run up our mission, I will gladly step aside,” Steve says in Robert Irwin’s birthday video. “Then and only then will I know that I have achieved my ultimate goal and my job will be done, and I guarantee you it will be the proudest moment of my life.”
Robert isn’t even an adult yet but he has already clearly fulfilled his father’s mission and dream.
