Bindi Irwin posted incredible artwork to her Instagram that included her father, Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, in a very special wedding picture. The result is heartwarming and a terrific depiction of how the proud dad would have felt on her special day.
Bindi Irwin’s Wedding At The Crocodile Hunter’s Australia Zoo
Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin’s 21-year-0ld daughter, Bindi, married Chandler Powell on March 25th. The ceremony was different than the couple originally planned. It was supposed to be a huge celebration at Australia Zoo.
But, the coronavirus pandemic altered things. The wedding was still at Steve Irwin’s beloved zoo, but just a handful of people were in attendance.
Of course, Bindi and Chandler found a way to include her father’s memory on the day of their wedding. She lost dad Steve when she was very young.
The time that has lapsed since has not diminished her love and appreciation for her father.

And the young bride wanted that recognized on her big day.
“We had Dad’s picture with his dog Sui blown up on an easel,” the newly married Bindi said. “So Mom and Robert were standing right next to Dad as we exchanged vows. We had a candle-lighting ceremony for him, and it really felt like he was there with us. It was a lovely moment of peace and happiness.”

Steve Irwin’s best friend Wes Mannion attended the wedding. He was included in a family picture that an artist reimagined to include the father of the bride. In the original Chandler, Bindi, Mannion, and Bindi’s mom Teri and brother Robert were snapped celebrating together.

Wedding Picture Recreated To Include Crocodile Hunter
The Monkey Brush artist Debb Oliver took the image and recreated it, swapping out Mannion for Steve Irwin. The Crocodile Hunter stood between his wife and his daughter. He sported his characteristic khaki shirt and pants.
When sharing the picture below Bindi wrote. “My family. Our wedding day. ❤️ This artwork gave me happy tears. Thank you to ‘The Monkey Brush’ for creating such a beautiful piece, it means the world to me.’
What a touching piece of art that these newlyweds will cherish forever! Bindi’s wedding plans might have changed because of the pandemic, but she went to great lengths to make it memorable.
Her father certainly would have been proud.
She is continuing his legacy at Australia Zoo and is ready to start the next chapter in her life.
