Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell shared the exciting news that they will soon be parents. The couple’s sweet announcement from Australia Zoo tells us that new baby will be raised as a wildlife lover too!
They were married in March and aren’t wasting any time with starting their family. While a due date was not given, Bindi reports that she is still early in the pregnancy. She’s just in her first trimester and the baby is expected to arrive next year.

Bindi Irwin And Chandler Powell Are Expecting
Newlyweds Bindi Irwin, 22, and Chandler Powell, 23, made their exciting pregnancy announcement on Instagram in adorable fashion. Together, they held up a tiny little Australia Zoo zookeeper shirt.
Bindi’s father, Steve Irwin, certainly would be over the moon with this news.
The couple called their child a “Baby Wildlife Warrior,” which will tug at the heartstrings of “Crocodile Hunter” fans.
“Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you,” the expectant mother wrote in the Instagram post below.
“Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter.”
We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives,” she continued. “Your support means the world to us. Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes & prayers to our little sweetheart. Love & light. ❤️”
The Newlyweds Married In March
Bindi and Chandler got married at the Australia Zoo in an intimate ceremony. They included Steve in the wedding ceremony by lighting a candle in front of a picture of him and his dog Sui on an easel.
Bindi said:
“We had a candle-lighting ceremony for him, and it really felt like he was there with us. It was a lovely moment of peace and happiness.”

Bindi Irwin’s Baby Will Grow Up At Australia Zoo
Given the theme of the announcement, it is clear the Australia Zoo will be a focal point of the baby’s childhood. We also can expect to get details as the pregnancy progresses.
The Irwins have always been open about their lives and Bindi will obviously be carrying on that tradition on her journey to motherhood.
Even though Bindi was very young when her father died, she and her younger brother Robert carry on his legacy. Like Steve, wildlife conservation is their life’s work. Now, it appears that will carry onto the next generation.
