The eyes of the world were on Princess Diana on her wedding day to Prince Charles at St Paul’s Cathedral on July 29, 1981. But that day was far from a fairy tale for the newest member of the Royal Family. According to a new documentary, the night before the wedding, Prince Charles told Diana that he didn’t love her.
Diana was a mere twenty years old when she became a member of the Royal Family. The pressure must have been great for the young woman.
At that time, the world believed she would be the next Queen of England. It was portrayed as a dream come true. In reality, it was not.
We now know that Prince Charles continued his relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles after the wedding, who he would marry after Diana’s death.
While the wedding was nothing short of amazing, the marriage was a disaster.
Prince Charles held up a red flag for Diana hours before they walked down the aisle.
In the new documentary “The Diana Interview: Revenge Of A Princess,” Astrologer Penny Thornton who was a confidante of Diana’s in 1981 explained the painful choice Diana had to make as the entire world watched.
Thorton said, “One of the most shocking things that Diana told me was that the night before the wedding Charles told her that he didn’t love her.”
“I think Charles didn’t want to go into the wedding on a false premise. He wanted to square it with her and it was devastating for Diana,” she continued.
“She didn’t want to go through with the wedding at that point, she thought about not attending the wedding.”

People across the globe tuned in to see Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s nuptials live.
It was the wedding of the century and cost a staggering $70 million in today’s dollars.
Leaving Charles at the altar would have likely destroyed her in a different way.
Diana later recounted to the media that Charles’s infidelity ultimately caused the marriage to crumble. His honest confession that he didn’t love her apparently was true.
While seemingly every other man in the world adored Diana, her own husband wanted Camilla Parker Bowles.
The People’s Princess ultimately found the courage to confront her husband’s mistress.
While still married to Charles, Diana interrupted them one day and had a chat in private with Camilla.
