NASCAR Bubba Wallace vote Trump

NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace has made a name for himself this year by becoming the Colin Kaepernick of the racing world. In an Election Day tweet, Bubba Wallace announced that he voted for the very first time on November 3rd.

Which means that Wallace just showed his hand in revealing that his enthusiasm for leftwing political activism is a brand new thing.

Bubba Wallace Votes For The First Time

“Big day! I did my part for the first time last week! Did you?? GO VOTE!” Wallace tweeted alongside a photo of himself with an “I voted” sticker.

For someone who had never voted in a US presidential election, 27-year-old Wallace was very active in challenging the politics and culture of NASCAR over the past year.

First, Wallace spearheaded the movement to ban Confederate flags from NASCAR races back in June. His call was promptly answered and racetracks were required to comply.

Then, there was the infamous “noose” scandal. Wallace claimed to find a noose hanging in his stall at Talladega prompting a formal FBI investigation.

The federal investigation, however, concluded that the alleged “noose” was actually a piece of rope that had been there since last year. Long before Wallace was assigned to the garage.

Wallace also made headlines this year when he hit back at a driver against the Confederate flag ban and even publicly mocked the faith of his fellow Christian driver.

Trump Calls Out Bubba Wallace For Noose Scandal

Though Wallace did not reveal which candidate he voted for, it seems clear that he did not vote for Donald Trump. Especially after the President criticized him publicly back in July for his infamous noose scandal.

“Has @BubbaWallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX?” Trump tweeted. “That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!”

Wallace fired back by saying, “Love over hate every day. Love should come naturally as people are TAUGHT to hate. Even when it’s HATE from the POTUS.”

Jimmy Kimmel Asks About Trump Tweet

ESPN reported that Wallace was later asked about Trump’s tweet while appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

“So to be late to the party is one thing, and to be wrong on the factual information is another,” Wallace said.

“But all in all, he did get one thing right in his tweet, though: the great officials that continue to stand behind me — NASCAR drivers and officials that continue to stand behind me through it all — he got that part right. We have a great sport that I’m proud to be a part of.”

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany defended Trump’s criticism of Wallace at the time, saying that “the president’s merely pointing out that we’ve got to let facts come out before we jump to judgment.”

Clearly, Bubba Wallace did not vote for President Trump’s reelection.

He added to the merry band of celebrities rallying against Trump and conservatism.

Now that Wallace got a taste of power with his social justice wins, I suspect we’ll be seeing more of his activism.

But perhaps the Left should consider finding some champions with actual political acumen.
