American soccer star Megan Rapinoe has penned a new memoir in which she whines about the backlash she received for taking a knee during the national anthem before her games, following in the footsteps of former NFL player Colin Kaepernick.
Megan Rapinoe Shocked By Backlash For Anthem Kneeling
In Megan Rapinoe’s new book “One Life,” which is set to be released on Tuesday, the all star midfielder claimed that she was shocked at the reaction she got for kneeling during our country’s anthem.
Rapinoe lamented:
“I was called every name under the sun… and a talking point on Fox News. I was totally blindsided.”
She added that it was “f**king wack-a**” when the anthem was played before her team took the field before the next game giving her no chance to kneel.
Daily Mail reported that Rapinoe also said that she has no regrets about kneeling in support with Colin Kaepernick because it didn’t destroy her soccer career. And, she acknowledges it has made it easier for her to speak out about social justice.
“I love playing soccer. It’s the only job I’ve ever had,” she wrote. “I also want to buy a gold Rolex!”
Rapinoe wrote in her book that she is determined to use her platform to fight racism, sexism, and homophobia, asking her readers, “What are you going to do?”

Megan Rapinoe Disrespects The American Flag
In an interview with NPR to promote her book this week, Rapinoe held nothing back when she was asked about her thoughts on the American flag.
“First of all, the country was founded not on freedom and liberty and justice for all,” she said.
“I think we can just start to be very honest with ourselves about that. It doesn’t mean that we don’t have some of those qualities and that we can work towards some of those qualities. But this country was founded on chattel slavery and the brutal and ruthless system of slavery. So let’s all be really honest about that.”
“So when I look at the flag, what I want to see is us constantly trying to live up to these words and live up to this ideal where all people are free, and all people do have all of the rights, and all people can have a life filled with liberty and justice for all,” Rapinoe added.
“But I think we just so clearly have so far to go. And so I see patriotism as constantly demanding better of ourselves.”
Rapinoe And Kaepernick Have No Love For America
This just goes to show that liberals like Rapinoe and Kaepernick really don’t have any love or respect for our flag and what it represents.
They are far more interested in shaming America in the hopes of earning themselves fame and fortune, rather than being appreciative of all the freedoms this country has given them in the first place.
