Kyle O’Reilly – Concussion News, Chris Jericho On WWE Frustrations

Kyle O’Reilly – Concussion News

Kyle O’Reilly and Finn Balor put each other through the grinder at NXT TakeOver 31, leaving WWE fans around the world in awe.

We now know that Balor suffered a broken jaw during the epic title match, and O’Reilly also was injured. WWE officials, however, are remaining quiet on what is injured.

As Wrestling Observer Radio’s Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer recently discussed, that likely means it could be a concussion.

Over the past few years, WWE and all pro wrestling promotions around the world have taken a much better stance on concussions and concussion-related symptoms. When there is nothing made public about a wrestler being hurt, it tends to be a form of concussion.

Strict protocols have been put into place to protect the wrestler and his most valuable muscle: the brain.

WWE officials did post that O’Reilly suffered “a number of broken teeth” in the bout with Balor. They also added he is “being evaluated for additional injuries.

As for Balor, a broken jaw usually takes 4-6 weeks to heal. For now, it does not seem like Balor will have to relinquish the NXT Championship after his brutal Takeover 31 match.

Also, it should be noted how the match ended a few minutes earlier than planned due to Balor’s injury.

Chris Jericho On WWE Frustrations

To this day, one of the few disappointments Chris Jericho has in his WWE career involved Kevin Owens.

Jericho and Owens were engaged in a heated feud that was the talk of the sport for several weeks. Heading into WrestleMania 33, though, the placement of the card on the lineup bothered the current All Elite Wrestling superstar.

Jericho Unhappy with WWE’s Direction

“It kind of reinvigorated my love and creativity and then, midway through ’17, when we had the best story on RAW by far and I’m not being a jerk about that,” stated Jericho on Busted Open recently (thanks to Wrestling Inc. for the quotes). “You can go back and watch how entertaining that story was and all that garnered us was the second match on the card at WrestleMania. Second match! Don will tell you that’s a jobber match. It’s either first or last. Those are the two; maybe a semi-main event. We were on second?

“After having the best show of the year, I was like, ‘You know what? I’m done. I’m not doing this again.’ And I split to do Fozzy when Judas took off and I wasn’t interested in going back to wrestling until Don put the idea, ‘What do you think about working with Kenny Omega?’ And when I went to New Japan, it was like this whole new world of creativity opened up where I was like, ‘This is what wrestling is supposed to be!’

“There are no scripts, there’s no queueing in the camera with what the bumps and what the dives are, and sometimes, that’s bad. But it was real and that’s where it all started coming back to me again. Doing those New Japan shows, I did six matches there which lead me to AEW.

In conclusion, Jericho and Owens delivers an entertaining bout at WrestleMania 32. Although,

The world of MMA is one of the few sports that brings together people from all walks of life. I try my best to tell those stories and also present breaking news to the masses.
