Dolly Parton Brings Christmas Cheer That Even Scrooge Can’t Resist In Trailer For New Netflix Movie
Dolly Parton just followed her Christmas album release with the trailer for a Netflix movie starring Christine Baranski and Treat Williams.
Dolly Parton is the queen of Christmas cheer this year! Hot on the heels of her album “A Holly Dolly Christmas”, Parton just dropped the trailer for a new Christmas musical, Christmas On The Square, which will be available for streaming on Netflix November 22.
With the challenges 2020 has brought, many of us are looking forward to some holiday cheer. While this year the holidays might require us to spend more time at home, we’ll certainly be well entertained with Christmas specials.
This is a special Christmas for Dolly fans as she’s spreading joy with not one but two holiday treats this year!
If 2020 has got you down, Dolly Parton is here to lift your spirits with a welcome dose of Christmas cheer!
Christine Baranski Joins Dolly Parton In Christmas Musical
Her Christmas Netflix special is actually a musical that features 14 new songs that Dolly wrote herself.
As an added treat, Christine Baranski of the “Good Wife” is also featured in the musical. These leading ladies are also joined by Treat Williams of “Everwood” and “Chesapeake Dreams”.
In Christmas On The Square, Christine Baranski plays a Scrooge-esque town owner Regina Fuller, a wealthy woman who returns to her hometown after her father dies.

The heartless woman begins evicting families right before the holidays.
Dolly Parton is an actual angel who comes to show the town’s nemesis the meaning of Christmas.
The movie is directed by none other than Tony nominee and Emmy winner Debbie Allen.
From Pop Culture:
The trailer gives a glimpse at how Regina plans on making the townspeople’s lives miserable, including announcing their upcoming eviction during a church service, but Parton arrives as an angel encouraging her to change. “You find that light, and it will lead you to the part of you you lost,” she tells Regina. “The part that can be happy.” Christmas on the Square will premiere Nov. 22 on Netflix and was directed and choreographed by Debbie Allen. It will feature 14 original songs by Parton, some of which can be heard in the trailer. The movie also stars Jenifer Lewis, Treat Williams, Jeanine Mason, Josh Segarra, Mary Lane Haskell, Matthew Johnson and Selah Kimbro Jones.
A Christmas musical featuring Dolly Parton, Christine Baranski, and Treat Williams is just what we need to soothe our wounds from this challenging year.

Of course, Christmas On The Square isn’t Dolly’s first or only holiday movie.
