Alistair Overeem and Augusto Sakai haven’t been trading many verbal shots ahead of their fight tomorrow at UFC Vegas 9, but the heavyweights had an intense, but respectful face off today.
The contenders are going to battle in the headliner of Saturday’s card, which will go down at the Apex Facility in Las Vegas.
Sakai (15-1) has been tapped for the high profile fight, after going 4-0 in the Octagon to date. In his last out, this past May, the 29-year-old Brazilian earned a split decision win over Blagoy Ivanov.
The legendary Overeem (46-18), meanwhile, is coming off a stoppage win over Walt Harris in May. Prior to that, the 40-year-old Dutch fighter was en route to beating Jairzinho Rozenstruik in December, but the latter scored a late, comeback win.
You can watch the two face off below.
In the co-main, Alonzo Menifield will throw hands with Ovince Saint Preux. “OSP” (24-14) is returing to the light heavyweight division, after he dropped a split decision loss to heavyweight Ben Rothwell in May.
Menifiled (9-1) is coming of the first pro loss of his career, as he dropped a decision to Devin Clark in June.
