It’s taken a few years to materialize, but finally, rivals Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington have been booked to fight, and the official poster for the highly anticipated bout has been released.
The rivalry between Covington and Woodley dates back to when the latter was ruling the UFC’s welterweight division. After Woodley took the title from Robbie Lawler in 2016, eventually, Covington started calling the now former champ out.
Covington claimed that he bested Woodley in training sessions at American Top Team, and the latter said it was the opposite. Initially, Woodley (19-5-1) didn’t sound overly interested in fighting Covington, as “Chaos” wasn’t a top contender.
But, as Covington (15-2) continued to rack up wins, it seemed inevitable the two would collide in the cage at some point. Woodley’s reign as champ, however, was ended by Kamaru Usman in March, 2019, and the new champ stopped Covington that December.
Well, although the welterweight belt won’t be up for grabs, the two will throw down at UFC Vegas 10, September 19th. You can check out the official poster below.
