WWE Upset AEW Promo

WWE Upset By AEW Promo

Any chance of Taz returning to the WWE was likely ended on a recent edition of All Elite Wrestling’s Dynamite program.

During a promo hyping the upcoming Fyter Fest event, Taz took some serious shots at his former wrestling home.

Taz stated that AEW doesn’t “run a sloppy shop” in regards to testing for COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus. He was referencing that the WWE failed to test for the virus for several months before many positive results were found.

That includes Renee Young, the wife of Jon Moxley, who Taz was talking about. Moxley pulled out of a planned world title defense with Brian Cage, who Taz manages.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio talked about the promo, mentioning that the WWE was very upset by it all.

“Boy were there people up upset with that line,” Meltzer said (thanks to Ringside News for the quotes). “Really, are you kidding? Think about it!”

Bryan Alvarez chimed in asking “are you kidding me?” to which Meltzer added “yes. There were people very upset with that line.”

According to reports, the WWE is giving swab testing to wrestlers. In AEW, they are doing blood tests, which also checks for antibodies.

Cage and Moxley are now scheduled for later this month for the title.

Details On Jon Moxley Missing Fyter Fest

Jon Moxley might not be able to attend Fighter Fest

On a recent edition of All Elite Wrestling Dynamite, it was reported that Jon Moxley will not be at Fyter Fest.

Instead, Moxley will defend his AEW world title against top contender Brian Cage at Fight For the Fallen on July 15.

Moxley’s wife, Renee Young, announced that she has tested positive for COVID-19. Moxley, however, has not tested positive for the virus to date.

Still, he opted to remain by her side and help her through the coronavirus. Meanwhile, Moxley declined going into isolation away from Young even after the news broke.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Moxley told AEW he was not going to be attending even before his second coronavirus results were known. Therefore, plans was changed.

“The 15th is a live show and Moxley — cross your fingers that everything goes well — he should be fine by July 15th,” Meltzer said. “He’s gonna take three tests. I don’t know the day he’s taking a third, but it’s probably in the next day or two. He passed his first test which we knew about. He had his second test over the weekend and he would have gotten his test on either (Tuesday or Wednesday), but he had already pulled out of the show even before he got the test results.”

In summary, the match will happen. But, fans will need to wait a little longer.
