UFC Vegas 4 did not go according to plan for Mickey Gall, but the welterweight sounds upbeat, following his loss to Mike Perry.

Gall comments on loss

The 28-year-old Gall had some positive moments in his bout with Perry. But, as the fight wore on, Perry took over with his pressuring and some groundwork. After 15 minutes Perry was awarded the decision win.

After the bout, Gall posted the video and comments below on Instagram.

Lost a decision. Fun fight for me. Much love everybody. I appreciate you guys. No excuses. I know who I am I’m holding my head high. I’ll be back in the octagon soon & better than ever.

Gonna grow from this little loss. No where in the world would I have rather been tonight. Believe that. See you soon. I’m still full of love and gratitude Thanks for the love always (*when the @ufc gets back from fight island to America)

What’s next?

It’s encouraging to see that Gall isn’t getting too down on himself and that by the sounds of it, his confidence remains high.

Since Gall isn’t even 30 yet, and has less than 10 pro-bouts under his belt, it would be silly to close the book on him being a contender. But, Saturday’s loss was a significant setback for the fighter.

The loss took place in a co-headliner, and if he had beat Perry, then a top 15 ranked fighter may have been next for Gall. With the defeat, Gall has now dropped three of his last five. So there will be a lot riding on his next fight.

Gall currently carries a record of 6-3, and his last win took place in August, 2019, when he scored a decision win over Salim Touahri.
