RAW In A Nutshell: More Money In The Bank Fun Awaits

It’s another fun start to the week, which of course leads us to our RAW In A Nutshell. And what do we get this week, but more Money In The Bank fun awaits us!

This week, as with last week, promises to give us more set up as it pertains to WWE’s next PPV. We know where some Money In The Bank fun will be coming from, if not all of it (Stamford, that is).

So we should learn more about who from RAW will be vying for a spot in the ladder matches. We may also get some follow up to the brewing feud between Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins.

We have a few more weeks between now and Money In The Bank, but setting up that PPV promises to give us some matches to enjoy. So, without any more chatter, let’s crack open this RAW In A Nutshell!

Best Match of the night:

I think I will settle on Aleister Black versus Austin Theory. But I am not against being swayed here.

Worst match of the night:

I don’t feel compelled to rip on one particular match (though I may). I will, however, start with a broad statement.

For a three hour show, there were too many squashes.

Of those, the worst offender was perhaps Nia Jax and Kairi Sane, because Jax was very unsafe.

Star of the Night

Tonight felt like it was all about letting Drew McIntyre come off strong. He did just that.

The one thing I have to add though, is he in some ways acted like a heel. Like, you don’t usually expect a babyface to attack as he did.

I am not against it, in theory. However, think about who lost handily to McIntyre…

I don’t necessarily like seeing the United States Champion get used in a manner to build up the big champ.

Spot of the Night:

Austin Theory made this one look extra special.

Jobber of the Night:

Take your pick.

Santana Garret? Sure.

Indi Hartwell? Why not.

Heck, even Kairi Sane could be under consideration here.

Upset of the Night:

Nothing to see here.

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

I am going to pick on Nia Jax twice this time around. Check below for the other shot.

This tweet sums things up though…

Botch of the night:

Pretty sure I remember Nia had a bad spot last week too. This isn’t a good start to her return, and if she’s going to continue being unsafe, WWE owes it to the other Superstars to get Nia figured out in the PC or elsewhere before someone seriously gets messed up.

Commentary of the night:

I know they are getting creative…or trying to…but hearing the Street Profits scream and yell got old fast. Even Lawler said as much, and while he’s found himself in hot water recently, this was one time he wasn’t wrong, I think.

Noteworthy Moment:

I shall just drop this one here…because it was worth noting.

Yes, short matches. A few of them were squashes.

Yes, one very dangerous botch.

But still…plenty of women representing on RAW.

Overall lowlights:

Too many fluff matches. Too many squashes.

Another week, another dangerous spot with Nia Jax.

Overall highlights:

Maybe we can question some of the methods, but Drew is being positioned as the top dog and it’s working.

The tough part is, well, is it really? Without a live audience, it’s hard to tell.

For what it is, I like it.

After the final bell:

Not a bad RAW, but one that does have me wondering if they really need three hours.

Still, they got a lot done, though I do favor quality over quantity.
